New Simulacrum is bad
Honestly, at first, I was wondering how it is. It is very hard to farm up 300 simulacrum splinters, as they drop like 3-5 sometimes zero per map with delirium, you can instill maps with emotions and this will add like 1-2-3 splinters per map. It would take more than 100 maps to get started with "simulacrum" endgame content.
Now here is teh funny part, simulacrum mobs, are not spawning in huge quantities, but they are invulnerable (like shades) until they reach your character, as a ranged hero, I would not even want that to happen, but alright, I have 6k ES+. Can take few hits. So these stupid mobs not only rush/jump at your face, but they all have knockback ability, they throw you like a ball around the map, they run faster than any hero can run so goodluck running away. The charm against stun is not working "shi-et". The map layout is also not very accomodating, there are squares and circles, but one part is a thin line, where it is super easy to get surrounded and permastunned. But as the encounter progresses, and mobs gain super nice affixes, like 300% more hp, 100% delirious, 40% more action speed and move speed, good luck avoiding beign zerged. Overall did anyone even test these mechanics? I roflstomped t4 breach/ritual, but I cannot pass 1st tier simulacrum. I will never buy a simulacrum pass again, oh and the loot I got from 2x12-13 waves, was roughly worth 10ex, when the key to simulacrum is worthh 3.5divines. Well it cost 3.5 div just because it's very hard to farm.
I'm not focusing on delirium since breach sounds a lot better for me: it's about 12-15 maps on average to make a breachstone and pretty doubles or even triples the exp from a map but I also was very frustrated by delirium so +1 here. Sounds like breach was the only endgame league GGG were able to devote enough time. Expedition is fine but it's just the same as in poe1 and I'm missing good old Tujen's currency shop and uniques gambling by Gwen. |

Simulacrum mentally broke me. I have over 200 hours /played on a 94 level storm weaver. I have ran between 10 and 15 simulacrums. I managed to beat level 1 once and died many times on both level 1 and 2. I have tried various combinations of spark builds, to be able to manage the mobs. Spark damage varies between 57-84k. I have tried 57k damage spark with electrocute gem + primed for electrocution gem( this one was the winner for the one time I managed to beat level 1) but also 84k full damage spark with zero control( I found this one to not work so well). The above poster nailed the main problem perfectly. The challenge rooms are small and the mobs are phased until they are close to you and use knockback on you, which slightly delays your cast, enough for the mobs to go on top of you and surround you very easily and very quickly. As maps progress into higher delirium/difficulty while also becoming smaller and smaller( who designed map 10/15 btw ? ),I will eventually run into some variation of +70% life/+40% dmg/+40% movement speed which is very hard in itself but not impossible. However, this is what happens frequently after that :you will get a rare mob and minions with some added abilities that make it near impossible to clear before getting blocked and killed(one example is mana siphon rare). I have even run into this combination of mods + rare mob with mana siphon+ proximal tangibility. It was then that I finally realized that this is not a skill issue, and this is just not doable. It was designed to be difficult but was not really tested to be fair and not contain BS combinations that are unbeatable. I even used the log out trick but sometimes I am too slow or I just run out of portals. The Furthest room I have reached is 13/15 for level 2 simulacrum. I can comfortably clear regular buffed t15 maps in no time, and can farm pretty quickly, I have just run out of options for progress, as my gear cant really improve without super expensive items. I am by no means the best player in the world, but also far ahead of a casual player in activity and effort, and I'm mentally broken. The game feels too hard, it is by far the hardest I have ever played. I'm not sure if the game being that hard is the correct approach you are looking for the broader player base. I also would like to add that I have cleared level 4 breach( I have max points there ), so I would like to think that I am not that terrible. Simulacrum is on a whole different level though.

Guys I oneshotted Tier 4 Arbiter, I have 7k Mana, over 150k DPS (on spark tooltip), 1.6k mana regen per second, and simulacrum is something I absolutely cannot complete. I have stopped trying and sold my simulacrum keys. There are not many people stronger than my character in the game (sure there are those with thousands divines/mirrors in gear) but anyway.
This is nuts. And rewards are not nearly the level of the difficulty. The worst part is not damage, invulnerable mobs. It is the level of knockback, CC, Stun, Freeze. Some waves mobs have 80% resistances and are pretty tough to hit even with absurd dps that oneshots arbiter. Also that atlas tree is a joke, the rewards are clearly not in placw with the challenge delirium brings. I have 120% delirious maps, which have absolutely no reason to run. We are supposed to come and level league mechanics to progress our character right? But here its like if you come without 5 mirror build, and some impossible way to have stun/freeze immunity, you will be steamrolled. At that level of progression nobody is going to waste time doing simulacrums. Last edited by GODOFWARSANCHEZ#4574 on Dec 26, 2024, 4:26:36 PM

" You know, I just had a gut feeling that Simulacrum would be some kind of CBT-hell dimension that lacks all logic, game balancing or good rewards. Guess I ended up guessing correctly lol It's already for a kind of niche set of builds in PoE 1, even with capped suppress and good defenses not every build can just waltz in there and clear all 15 waves. But cmon in this game it just sounds ridiculously balanced for like 1 or 2 builds that cost multiple mirrors. I guess sell all Simulacrums until its in a properly balanced state. No idea who tested this or on what build with which console commands enabled but clearly it needs more testing. |

Yeah it definitely needs balancing, it's insane how hard the content is compared to the rest of the game, most of the time I've been getting one shotted by the bosses spawning on top of you and I have absolutely no idea what actually killed me.

" You basically admitted to investing hundreds of divs into your build, and it still gets dumpstered in Simulacrums. There's something insanely wrong with that picture. Maybe your build is bad, and/or maybe your mechanical skill is bad. Last edited by HwtChirino#2462 on Dec 26, 2024, 10:34:43 PM

" Wow, yet another endgame content that I'll never get to see because it requires an extremely absurd amount of time invested and luck, and even if I do manage to access said content, it's a huge piece of shit worse than the rest of the endgame which is already a huge piece of shit? Wow, this really is something coming from PoE2! |
|
" Multiple people reporting that the content is impossible, even with the highest DPS builds in the entire game. But of course the people this game wanted to attract (soulslike fan normies) will just say that it's the player's fault, and that he has a bad build. It's incredible that this behavior is extremely predictable and repetitive coming from your type. |

I would like to know how a developer of the game expects me to beat a mana siphon rare with extra life/extra movement speed on map 10/15 of simulacrum and/or if he has personally tested it and found it acceptable?
Also another question that I have not seen anyone ask: Why is it that every time I BLOCK an attack I get stunned? I am unable to do anything while I'm blocking an attack, I am unable to cast a spell or even dodge and yet it is not a stun as my stun trinket is not proccing. In essence while I block, I get a worse effect on me than I would have gotten if the mobs had hit me hard enough to stun me( and proc stun charm). This is just wrong. Now normally when I block only 1-2 attacks, there is usually a period between attacks where I can move/cast/dodge, but if more mobs are hitting me I get quickly chain stunned due to block spam and then surrounded and killed. Stun charm does not activate on block animation spam, because its technically not a stun. Absolutely crazy interaction and it doesn't make sense, because in essence blocking an attack should be a positive thing and not something that can kill you faster than the actual monster stun.
