GRINDING Gear Games

I suppose that has something to do with manifesto of the game.

GRINDING Gear Games

This argument is so overused and it has 0 meaning.

Tedious, slow and boring games aren't fun. That's just a fact. Grinding can be fun in games, but in PoE 2 currently it isn't. In PoE 1 it is. PoE 2's """difficulty""" is entirely artificial and fake. An illusion created by the Ruthless game design.
What you see on the trade site is not what the items are worth, but what people are no longer willing to pay. Because otherwise someone would have bought it.

The grand issue is that the average player is so starved for upgrades, that they literally buy everything they can get. The entire upgrade path has gone from looting and crafting to buying from other players. So naturally also the market has been starved to a point where only the ridiculously priced items remain.

GGG has massively failed to provide a proper loot system in both drops, gambling and crafting.
Apart from the fact that trading is a recipe for getting tired of the game faster, the difference between trade and SSF in PoE 2 is a literal night and day. Playing PoE 1 in trade or SSF was a very different experience, as it should be obviously, but in PoE 2 it's like two different games entirely. Devs want to make a game around scarcity, which you obviously feel in the campaign at first, but once you can buy upgrades from the trade site it's like bypassing SO much it almost feels like a completely broken experience. I have no idea how they will enforce this vision in trade, I think it is impossible, when loot is this rare you just force every player to stop caring about everything they find except currency orbs to trade for upgrades, and guess what, this is exactly how players felt in PoE 1 with their uber strict loot filters.
Playing trade feels pointless in this EA, playing SSF feels like it's almost impossible to progress because you're locked behind the gamble called crafting. They will need to find a way to bridge that gap or make a choice, because else it will tear apart their game. I can't see a solution to fix trade honestly, most PoE trade players have grown the habit of only caring about getting rich in game to eventually craft some insane gear, and now GGG basically took away that goal of many players with applying their ruthless vision in every aspect of the game, I wish them the best of luck trying to find a middle ground without completely polarizing the playerbase before it's too late. The campaign is teh best aprt about this game, they reached that goal I guess, but

The gambling... I mean gacha... I mean "crafting" system is awful and pointless. It contributes almost nothing to the game. The drops in this game - due to their random nature - are mostly trash. Since GGG didn't put any guardrails on what kind of stats go together. How did they account for it? Give us disenchantment/disassembly stuff so we get currently out of it. Thanks.. pointless portal to the town every couple minutes for no good reason.

Meaningfull crafting should be like in D4... or at least poe1. It's not crafting if you have to gamble.

What is mind boggling to me is how of all things they removed the alteration orb, the glue that holds their entire crafting system together. The alteration orb alone is the reason you can always play ssf in poe 1. Alteration/Augment spam + regal + exalt would be soooo soo much better.
Alteration spam for giga endgame stuff of course is very tedious, but as a general crafting tool it is essential for ssf.
Not being able to reroll items in a meaningful until you want to spam that regal + exalt jsut ruins the complete system.

They said they wanted people to actually use crafting currency more, or they feel like they failed, so hopefully they actually stick to that promise and revisit it.

Yeah, opposite for me too.

When I have an abundance, I can gamble.

When I have a scarcity, I hold on to it and do nothing.

OP for reference can you really outline where you're at ingame?

I'm 88 monk, started day 1 but didn't know POE. Still figured out gear and trading early on. I stayed with everyone pretty much till mapping and bought ok mapping gear worth a ton today. But its trash and I'm level 88 dying all the time. I'm dyying all the time because I keep stacking the maps harder and harder because the rewards are so bad and I can't afford a big upgrade I need.

I've completed atlas so I've beaten atleast 10+ 15s but more but again I have no sustain.

Of all the ones, I got jack of squat. Then I push atlas difficulties and everything. Thats why I'm on the forums. 3 days of nothing pushing the "hardest" content like what am I doing wrong? Shouldn't a level 88 pushing rare deliriumed t15s content be able to make some ingame $$$ per hour to improve my stuff?

I have to just set down the game, I missed the boat. I think RMT and the tradebot network has heavily influenced your ability to progress in any meaningful way.

Also 2k HP 2k shields 80% evade, overmax resists should be enough... but not for all the bullcrap on the ground. Don't go melee. It was stupid of me.

Im doing up to t14 maps now. but i've stopped pushing higher maps and switched to breach farming juiced lower tier maps. I've had better drops but nothing really noteable.

Running a lightning ranger with 79% evade + acrobat and capped resists (only managed to get to this point by exchanging currency and trading for better gear as I gave up after my umpteenth crafting failure) Its very hard to stack health so when the evade fails you and its a crit hit its game over but Acrobat has been helping a lot.

I know it heresy to mention that game in these parts, but I really do like how you have tempering with a small layer of rng, and all of the occultist options. It gives the player agency over their outcomes.

I struggle to find a good reason why having good loot needs to be some sort of high level achievement and not a base on which to build better gear. Just seems GGG has this super hard vision in their minds like with the fact that 99% of the players will never get their 4th ascendancy

Therefore they need to introduce an SSF Mode which gives better loot. Also trade is scuffed, because of RMT, cross trading, try hard group farming, flippping pseudo buisness man hide Out Warriors etc. etc. etc. ...

SSF mode with better loot! This is the way!

I would be so down for this. In [the game that shall not be named] I never resorted to trade even when it took some time to get the next upgrade, because I knew it was coming and that I would be able to customise and craft it to my liking - sometimes a little too easily, but I would rather have it easier than completely non existent
