12 public parties.. none have beat act 2 boss

snip

i just checked a guide for jamanra and it says that high dps can lead to less safe zones, this might have been why it was so easy compared to a ranged char.
i just magma blocked his melee hits are dodged the rest.

the few hits i took were easily regenerated due to going for a shield/ thorns build with high life regen

by all means show me a video of u soloing this boss on a SSF build from scratch on twitch.. i'll wait

So i capitalized the ssf in your quote to show you that thats your problem.
You dont like trading thats fine dont, but be aware that the game is balanced around trading and you chose to make the game harder for yourself.
Choosing to play the game in a harder than intended way and then complaining that its too hard seems kinda weird, no?

not really buying that argument, who tf buys uses trading during campaign? never did that in poe or any other online game

Good for you, i rarely do as well, but it is an option you have and if the game is too hard for you, maybe you should utilize that option...
and how do you find someone who sells campaign gear when people are not trading during campaign?
assuming there isn't a trading commmunity focused on deals rather than leveling, which i have never seen ( but never looked for, so maybe there is one)

i have nothing against trading..

i said these are PUBLIC parties.. i have to assume their builds are mid at best

thats why i said ssf. since anyone who trades and has the resources to trade can obviously just build a tier build and pass whatever content they want at that time.

i dont WANT to do that.. i want to play the game.

if i wanted to get carried or trade my way out of every situation.. i would not be playing a looter game

But then just go and grind for better gear or some levels?
Or do the boss solo if your party members drag you down?
There seem to be quite some solutions available too you and "make the boss easier because its too hard" seems reasonable only if you have tried to find a different solution.

it definitely is doable, just a build thing. it took ages, but this was one of the fights i managed to one-shot on my shield titan. i never traded in poe 2, so this is basically ssf

Done it on monk, witch (3x characters, 1st try each time), and warrior (also deathless). No trade needed just vendors, crafting and loot drops.

Oh, and only the warrior is after the loot drop change.

I dont know what to say to that besides look in the same place you would look after the campaign...

I mean... I don't have any video proof because I don't Twitch nor do I care about it, but I've been playing solo 100% of the time, except the day before yesterday that I played with my nephew with new characters in couch co-op for a few hours up to Act 2.

On my first playthrough, I Didn't touch trade until T6-T7 maps when I started hitting a wall and obviously, didn't play co-op at all with that character.

As such, yeah, I did beat that boss solo with self found gear... but I was playing Pathfinder ranger, so it’s most definitely easier than any melee character at this point in the game. There are many many players who did the same, so it’s not like it's an achievement or something.

Side note : I didn't believe it at first, but there's something odd with the Act bosses health pool in group play. Their health pool seems much much higher than the number of players would suggest : In a 2 players group, Geonor health pool looked like it was x3 or x4 compared to solo play, while the other bosses didn't feel that way. I cannot even imagine how big the health pool is in a group of 6.

Maybe try it solo and see how it goes?
