Xp loss makes the game unplayable

Gotta say not a fan of the XP loss myself. This is a game that is still heavily in development and not all interactions/bugs have been discovered. We also need a clarity pass in a big way, low graphics players are suffering from effects not fully rendering. I understand if it's the end goal to have some form of penalty for death, and I even believe there's a way to do so while still respecting a player's time.

But while the game is still in flux it would make sense to pause this as it can only create frustration and player fall-off, something GGG definitely doesn't want so early in its life cycle.
I think it would be appropriate to make possible to move your character into the lower difficulty leagues.
And add a tag to the char : godlike, demigod, explorer, have no time to be godlike.
Something like this. 😁
This might seem like odd advice but if you are dying too much to level up in low level map,s get as much damage as you can and do higher level maps, the xp is so much faster that deaths hinder you less.

This is why the xp penatly promotes clear builds without heavy investment into defenses. It is a good enough reason to remove it.

There often is a cycle where players play a glass cannon clear build, then decide they would rather rather just live and fight monsters on their screen, then they die to some contrived nonsense, so they go back to playing a glass cannon build.

If ggg wants an xp penatly then dying should be something caused by the player taking to much risk or playing badly, not getting one tapped offscreen by something not fully rendered or loaded in.

I don't go so far as to say unplayable, but it is definitely a terrible feature, in a shockingly long list of terrible features.

I'm holding off on any reviews during EA, but if it went live tomorrow XP loss would make it into my list of negatives.

We have Hardcore to make death stressful, anyone advocating XP loss in softcore is just a whiny redditor too afraid to play hardcore.

*yes, I am using "redditor" as a slur.
OK. Let's solve the problem that arises:
This game is a race - a competition between players.
What kind of competition will there be if all players can complete 100% of the content?
Will it be interesting in the end for the player and for viewers?
Will the game lose its very essence: learning the game, building, the feeling of reward for overcoming (even with some luck)? Will the race leagues be interesting? Who will be the winner: the one with the skill and knowlage or the one with more time? What will keep me coming back to the game if I don't meet resistance?...

To wish that they rmove XP loss is going to be basically zero. This usless stupid thing has been in POE since 1 st day and wont go anywhere. This is the reason why i stopped supporting this game years ago. Havent spent dime on that thing. Its simply wasteing/not respecting players time. And like other white knight/really pro oled players suggsest, you better find another game, this time waster isnt for you, its just for players who live in moms basement with no real life or for streamers. Its not for players why just wanna have some fun for couple of hours after hard work day or when you baby makes afternoon sleep.

There is already resistance, you lose your map.

I think you will find they 99.999999999% of players are not racing to be the first to the top. Would be so dumb if that was the purpose of the game. And if thats the reason the game is this way then this is an extreme and rediculous suggestion but maybe ban those tiny subset of players and actually make a good game for the majority. The chances are those sweats don't even spend money so contribute nothing to keeping the game running lol

I'm level 82. I'm clearing T16 maps like nothing. Whenever I die, its because of invisible on death effects.

If you play a glass cannon that will happen a lot. If you stack proper defence layers and sacrifice a little dmg (or get better gear so you can have both) those on death effects become completely irrelevant. Plus the char is only lvl. 82 so you have another 18 levels to further develop that char.

As a Poe veteran i can tell you you have very little knowledge of the game and yet you find yourself invited to comment such nonsense.

4.2k hp is insanely good with max resistance as defense and good amount of evasion or armor. For this version of poe2 that is top tier damage mitigation. Specially if he uses ghost aura for fast energy shield recoup.

I have 3.2 k HP and im not dying much in maps due to anything other than on ground effects that are hard to see or ones that are bugged or offer no time of reaction like that tornado boss.

Now stop acting as if you are voice of reason here cause you are clearly not.
And let people say what they want to say and let GGG decide what to do about it.

Its more valuable to get new players than to cling to old ones such as yourself. You are lost cause you will play poe no matter what. As such you are completely irrelevant to this conversation.

This is the funniest thing I've read in some time! ;)
