Charms feel useless

I like that we no longer have piano flasks but charms just suck.

You can equip the anti stun charm and you will still be stunned all day. You can equip the anti-freeze charm and still be frozen all day. Flasks actually did something. If you're going to take the utility flasks away then at least make the replacement functional.

yeah anti stun is weird, didn't seem to help me either. Anti freeze works like a "charm" though

Agreed. Charms appear to be useless. Get rid of them. Turn the charm slots on belts into rune slots and make a a lot of players happy.
They *feel* useless because you don't get any feedback from when they are working or when they have charges ready. They most certainly are not useless.

If you have no other defenses against the ailment in question and get hit by that ailment constantly, the charm isn't going to save you. It's a buffer, not immunity by itself.

nah I need my freeze charm, and wouldn't mind a gold charm - but I'd be down for the return of utility flasks

If it matters I think my gold charm helps a teeny-tiny bit.

IMHO the biggest problem with charms is that you need a TRUCK-load of charges to get some to activate.

In PoE1 many of us got used to our utility flasks either "always up" or at least they were up a high percentage of the time while mapping. As such there were a tangible power spike.

Now charms almost act like bandaids in that the problem(s) they are meant to solve only exist because we no longer have the tools that we can invest in to mitigate against those conditions ourselves [via utility or other flasks], passives, gear choice, etc.

Poison immunity and chaos resist charms might be useful in some situations.

The best charm is the 'golden charm', it gives you +20% item rarity when you kill a rare/unique enemy, and magic find is currently broken and destroying the in game economy. Funny part is I bet most players have never seen or heard of this charm. I got it yesterday and immediately saw a marked increase in waystone/currency/loot drops from rares.
They use up way too many charges and you only get one unless you're willing to Shell out an insane amount of currency which is a huge step backwards.
