The irony is that it wasn't the first time GGG released something before taking a holiday break and coming back to a raging dumpsterfire.
But yeah no, it's probably not a good idea to release a beta version of the game riddled with bugs and economy-crashing exploits before going on a holiday. I'm not one of those entitled people who think GGG staff doesn't deserve time to spend the holidays with their loved ones, but I think it would've been better if they had stalled the release until after that was done.
Releasing an half baked EA before the holidays ? Whatever .
But complete radio silence during these holidays ? Not acceptable , and since then they never addressed how bad the performance issues were/are on Consoles & most Servers nor they will engage on the forums regarding all the Bugs Reports that were made which is inexcusable .
I've been gaming for 30 years. And this is the besr ea game I've ever played. Already have 500hrs.
I don't dispute this ( got close to 400 myself ) but that doesn't make them immune to criticism .

since January 20(people have fun outside instead of playing weekends) when casuals saw that the patch of jan 16 changed, I noticed D4 numbers are increasing, it is sad really, they currently have 25k players instead of the constant 5~8k they got since POE2 launched, POE2 is really marketing more for D4 than D4 themselves if they remain blind to it POE2 is going to remain in its niche of 10k players with few players entering each league and leaving afterwards because the game isn't trying to draw new players appealing to the same 10k players.
The worst part is that now GGG has two mouth to feed, and both offer similar zoomer experience on endgame content, and that's bad because i bet majority player (that's currently not playing atm) are attracted to POE2 due to their marketing material rather than what they experience on current game state.

Not sure if you mean it's all good or not.
If this game is supposed to play out like that where a season starts good and then a month in nobody has a reason to play, then I've definitely misunderstood. I thought this would be something that would just be fun to play all the time.
The problem must be with me. I didn't realize this is just a POE1 repackage by design.
Correct, you misunderstand the design of the game. It is designed to be played in waves, not constantly. PoE 1 is the same, and arpgs in general. You can pretty much choose any arpg that has leagues or seasons and see the same pattern.
It is exceedingly rare that a game focused on endless GRIND to be attractive for an extended, constant timeframe. It is a very popular mechanic, but in somewhat short bursts: the length of which is determined by the amount of content and "fun" of the game. Getting a month or two months every season of high players or slow rolloff is the sign of a particularly great game. Others only last days or a few weeks

Iy doesn't, but it also doesn't deserve majority of what it's getting. Poe1 in the beginning was way way worse. This game is actually fuxkin solid. And will only get better. Ppl need to be patient.

The biggest POE2 problem lies in the game direction itself, where lots of game feature content barely match on what you get

Sooner or later, the majority of POE2 player will be POE1 player instead of new audience if dev insist on splitting the whole game flow (tactical on early, i win whole screen AOE spam on endgame), while not making a proper QOL.
Please, please, please give proper feedback to dev instead of gatekeeping them. This game is still young and i don't want it to become another New World....because POE2 is clearly sailing to that way on it's current condition.
That guy suffer from massive copium overdose .
So far PoE 2 is doing exactly what PoE 1 was doing for the last 12 years : hype at release then slow & steady death as the season end . The difference here is PoE 2 is doing it on a much larger scale .
PoE 1 seasons got 5 people still playing it 2 months after release , even right now PoE 2 worse numbers are still above PoE 1 best numbers ever so stop the cap now .
For now. The campaign will get stale for many after multiple playthroughs unless they make it less linear and new side quests each league to keep it fresh.
