stat tiers remaining backwards. really?

" There's always been a much better solution to this... just call all that shit something else. "Area level 1 through level 100" and make it contiguous with the acts areas. So you're level 1 in a level 1 area. Then Name affixes with the same schema 40 Life (Level 34) 160 life (level 86) you can skip to various levels so level 1, 8, 16, 32, 64 or whatever intervals you want it still makes sense and also helps imply how inferior or good your affixes are. I'll never understand why ARPG devs chose such pointlessly confusing terminology. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.

" they want it to be congruent with waystones because waystones also use the word 'tier' its a nonsense argument. it worked fine in poe1 / they can just change the word used for waystones. their statement on the topic were nothing more than mental gymnastics. |

they could just use some letters for tiers above tier 1

doesn't it say how terrible of a design it is when Jonathan even says T1 during a livestream but means the complete opposite?

" ya they kept calling the best tiers t1 and then one of the interviewers had to clarify if he meant the opposite.... while getting frustrated.. all around showed the direction this game is taking |
|
" they have so many options to do this nicely and are choosing the worst one. |

They apparently think people are dumb since maps are the same way. They think it'll confuse people to have t1 be best on gear and the lowest on maps. Its an asinine excuse.

The best part in the interview was when they developers couldn't even keep the tiers straight for 30 seconds.
Fix it. It's worth noting that +2 maps are a dangerous thing.
They can cause players to get out of their depth - playing maps that are too hard for the items they currently have. Herp Derp. |

people keep forgetting that GGG is great at creating problems out of thin air
