1 portal and exp loss patch 0.1.1 interview
With how Mark and Jonathan answered these questions related to the title of this post, it's very clear that they want POE 2's direction to have a decent baseline competency from players and this is really good news.
Admit it or not, recent games including all genre have come to a point where, its only mere entertainment and not challenging which is not true for old games. An extreme example would be Tera online vs other newish mmorpgs. Not going to expound on why this is an extreme example but those people who played Tera online will know what I meant especially those who enjoy HM or hard mode dungeon from Tera. Fast forward to present, the only games that have a semblance of challenge for me were Elden ring and Armored core 6 and to be very blunt and honest, if you put just a small effort on these games, you'd realize that its not hard. Those people who are very vocal and want to remove 1 portal and exp loss on death will be very disappointed with Mark and Jonathan's answer regarding this issue but, again, accept it or not, GGG can only extend their hand as far as their arm + forearm + hand can reach. They did mention that they're fixing issues on random deaths. So "if" they fix visual clutter, on death effects, random offscreen oneshots and at that point you still die, then I think it's a fair loss.
Otherwise, if they can't fix these issues, then it's a neverending cycle of complaint and yes it is still a skill issue because people can get to 100 and we can't but they're the best of us and the rest are just gated at 90 but can still generate power through other means like gear and resources. |

True, I’m still waiting for the possibility to brick an Atlas and start it from scratch.

It is not hard. It is tedious, uninteresting, and way to slow for being so unengaging. It has a lot of stuff poorly designed. So much so that EA stopped being an excuse after just a few pages worth of criticism. You would think this was a small indie studio still instead of an established one backed by a multi billion $$ Game Development Conglomerate. I also take back any compliments I may have made for the sound and music. It is not holding up over time. Maybe it is being overshadowed by everything being colored poop brown or the poor area design. They want to make it better? They can start by fixing the doge roll and making the campaign areas actually have some character and flow

I'm a lazy player who isn't very good at avoiding mechanics, but I have a lot of free time in the winter and copy streamers. Closing on 92, not sure if I'll make 100 by league end though. It's just soooo slow. But yeah. Whatever sounds good to me.
