I'm happy, who wants to join me?
GGG had a break and like promised, came back with an update-info. And the interview showed something very clear: GGG is defintely reading all the topics here and adresses topics that are intensively discussed by the community.
We got more portals in endgame, we got more clear after-death and ground-effects, we got boss and monster balances, uniques get more interesting, we get more drops from important items (maps/omens), we get more bosses on maps, armor got buffed a little bit. All these insults and the name calling that happened here in the last weeks were just not deserved at all... And I can't believe that there are people offended by the interview (I cite: "The interview had major "Do you not have phones?" energy")... Really would like to see who is pleased with that last interview and the development. Last edited by AceNightfire#0980 on Jan 13, 2025, 1:57:44 PM Last bumped on Jan 13, 2025, 3:52:17 PM

I think most of the responses were very reasonable and answered a lot of the questions people were wanting answered. Even if I didn't like everything that was said, or changes they are not making, doesn't mean this was huge. Over all a lot of good things are coming.

I saw a Reddit comment that said the people who post on this forum are "genuinely mentally ill." And that's a lot, coming from Reddit, ha. It's clear to me, though, that a lot of people who post here are professionally unhappy. I don't understand it, personally. If something made me that unhappy, I'd stop doing it, and do something different.
I'm already with you, OP. That interview was great, and the game's on a good track. I'm stoked. Maybe the reason I'm so happy is that I'm playing Tales of Maj'Eyal until the patch drops. No need to torture myself with an unfinished game, especially when improvements are right around the corner. |

" There was game called PoE1. Many are simply pissed off that instead of getting a new league, they're basically getting the same thing, just in a worse version. On Probation Any%

People on this forum have made it their actual day-to-day job to be unreasonably pissed off at Grinding Gear. It's obnoxious, unhelpful, and deeply annoying.
This patch is specifically called out as "what we can fix and address quickly." In that context the information released was perfectly adequate. They're releasing an update to slap-patch the most egregious stuff as best they can while they work on a stronger update for a couple of months from now. I'm content with this, considering the game's Early Access state. I also fully support that both Jonathan and Mark hold the stance of "take player complaints seriously, but player solutions are needless fluff", with a focus on analyzing the problem and finding a proper solution rather than knee-jerking. As a longtime(ish) MechWarrior Online player, I've seen what happens when a developer basically just outsources its balancing and design decisions to 'The Community' - and frankly I'm amazed the game is still some semblance of alive. The stupid "Do You Not have Phones?" thread is just a collection of folks who don't understand what 'Early Access' means. We'll get there, and at the moment I'm good with most of the proposed fixes, yeah. |

I'm still sad about PoE1 feeling like early stage abandonware. We'll see how that plays out. But overall, quite happy, enjoying the game a ton. Upgraded my supporter back after yesterday's announcement and interview. Plenty to be optimistic about, plenty to still debate about on forums when I'm supposed to be working. After some initial frustrations at release and struggling to git gud, it's a solid 9/10 experience for me overall.
