Is this what you meant by the new economy GGG?
" All good mate. I spent about 30 sec research on the topic cuz I dont really care all that much so Im not surprised I got a major ingredient wrong or rather didnt even know it existed. Doesnt change all that much, except the amount of Temporalis drops obviously. I still think GGG fucked this one up and thats fine in the context of an EA. |

thanks for the responses everyone, details aside ur all basically saying the same thing.
" in terms of its impact it sort of is, its like u can dupe a temp chest 5-10 times or whatever for each of these relics u can get a hold of. for its impact on this item its essentially the same thing. however, on a code level its not actually a dupe right? an individual isntance of an item didnt get duplicated. in the most important fundamental way this is not a way to dupe items that would suggest its possible to dupe any other item. "well they duped temp so they could be duping anything right? the item spawning system is compromised and stuff can be duped, they might be duping mirrors" ^ that statement is not true. exploiting instance opening on a technical level has nothing to do with the system that spawns items being compromised and dupes being proven to be possible. tl:dr a dupe in poe1:
Spoiler
in 12 years there were very very few situations where items were able to be duped in poe1. compared to the mess that weve seen in diablo games and various other arpgs the item system integrity in poe1 was extremely good. most prominant example i remember was when hideouts were quite new. the meta at the time was a physical ambusher dagger with T1 phys%, T1 phys# and T1 spelldamage% to use with crown of eyes helment. some guy really early league crafted a perfect one and had it up for mirror service. i emailed chris and said hey chris this aint right, it took AXN 1000s and 1000s of exalts and divines and eternals to craft a similar weapon and even he couldnt perfect divine it. this item this early is impossible. few days later this guy got banned and these perfect items he had up for mirroring got locked in jail forever with his account. turns out he found an exploit where if he took an item out of guild stash, had it on his cursor and then performed some sort of respawn in your hideout function he still had the item on his cursor AND in guild stash. so it actually duped the item. i guess he used that to spawn infinite amounts of exalts/divines/eternals and brute forced perfect crafts. that was an actual dupe and thats the only actual dupe i can remember ever happening in 12 years of poe1 that i can recall, i presume there must have been at least a couple of others? but afaik the item system being compromised like that almost never happened. exploiting the resetting of an instance by crashing etc? possibly causing rollbacks or some other jank? now that is something i can remember happening multiple times. even now when the servers get really unstable and crash a lot people in my discord joke that someones trying to craft something. Fake, why would they have exactly 99 like that's the camp for mirrors in the stash tab when it's not.
The font also looks way off. Regardless, if it was real EA is the place you want exploits found. Not a live real league in full game access. |

oh theres actually a video now of the dude with the tab of them.
thats interesting and a lot harder to fake. doesnt mean it isnt faked but thats way harder than photoshop. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" I mean...I guess? What's so different about the duped dagger situation you describe and the duped instance that lead to hundreds of additional temporali? One exploited the guild stash, whereas the other exploited the multi-instance. Neither "directly" just straight up duplicated the item (whatever that means). They merely RESULTED in a duplicate item. Both exploited an issue with the "code" of the game to create duplicate items where there shouldn't have been. Sure...the dagger situation may have had wider reaching consequences with OTHER items and acted quicker, but both situations are item dupes created by exploiting faults in the code. Who's to say the Temporalis multi-instance couldn't have been used elsewhere to generate infinite drops on a boss that otherwise shouldn't have (like the problem with the beetle in Act 2)?. i already leave the game for this, dupe mirror is not a funny thing, still waiting for new league in poe1 or a reset economy for poe2.

guys. it's early access.

" just that the temps arnt actually a duplication of an item so the item system isnt compromised. with the dagger they could dupe anything, any item in the game could be exactly replicated over and over and over. i could duplicate a mirror and then dupe the 2 mirrors till i got a stack of 10 and then dupe the stack of 10x 10 and do it with all currency and items. you could make identical copies of any rare or unique item. with the temp situation someone just got to run a boss more times than normal, the resulting items arnt actually duplicates of an original. so people are running around now talking about the economy is fucked because of all the dupes, this is being duped, that is being duped... but we dont have any evidence anything is actually able to be duped, the item generation system isnt actually compromised. that its possible for an item system is compromised resulting in people being able to make infinite duplications of any item in the game is an extremely serious and worrying thing. using an exploit to be able to run a boss 5-10 times from 1 key in 1 particular piece of content is a way more limited, its far less worrying imo. actual duping is a whole different level of 'your game code and the integrity of your economy is fucked'. if thats possible you have to question the legitimacy of everything in the economy, thats actual economy = fucked. someone being able to farm 100 tempo chests instead of 15 is meaningless to the economy as a whole. What happens when you are controlled and staffed by Tencent.
Outside of 2-3 people on camera, they likely got restaffed by their parent company that have no idea what has been done over a decade in POE. |
