I'll come back when Jamanra is nerfed.
I loved POE. Wasn't the greatest but I was decent. Played through a bunch of builds, knew I'd hit a wall at endgame, sucked at clearing higher level maps but knew what I was getting into.
One really fun aspect of POE was that you could basically create any build and get through the opening acts, but you had to plan carefully for endgame. But that's not the case with POE2. POE2 took some getting used to, still getting to grips with it all, some tough but fun bosses, and then BAM. Jamanra. It's not a bad boss, it's just a HUGE difficulty spike that all of a sudden has me searching forums on how to kill it,

running around grinding looking for Lightning Resistance gear
Spoiler
I've only made it to the 2nd stage of the 2nd stage, and there's so much crap to deal with, minions barely last, and whoops I missed a roll, I'm dead again. That's if I survive the stupid minions during the sandstorm, which is hit-or-miss.
Yes, I know, git gud. Yes I know, I should respec and use totally different equipment (that I still can't find by grinding) and change my build completely, and learn his patterns and he's not really hard and yeah I've seen the comments. The boss isn't poorly designed, but the placement for this level of difficulty SUCKS. So I'm going to go play something else until GGG nerfs/fixes it. I'm really bummed; I was looking forward to playing Early Access for a while! But if a basic build isn't viable through the early acts (like it was in POE), it makes me wonder what other basic builds I have to avoid. Last bumped on Jan 25, 2025, 1:22:52 PM

So instead of trying to fix what is wrong on your end, you expect the world to bend to your needs?
Seems legit. |

Just don't nerf anything in a campaign please. Act bosses in PoE always served as build check. If you can't kill them your build is weak.

I just leveled a witch with minions to endgame and I had no big issues with that boss.
I died once to him in normal because I had switched to chaos damage (ES/C) for a few acts so the fight dragged on for a really long time. That shit's definitely too weak for bosses and the minions I still had also didn't do much damage because I put all my skill points in chaos damage. I really had to watch out and not get hit too much, but I never had to do that fight for so long, so eventually the bastard got me. The next attempt worked out well enough. Still a very long fight, but I don't find the mechanics particularly difficult. After I changed back to minions with SRS, the next encounter in cruel was piss-easy. I didn't even have very good equipment. |

jamanra normal = super demon lord
jamanra cruel = Easy Peasy its not entirely because of players getting good. we have access to better gear, new skill gems/new supports. i would argue that for normal difficulty the easiest way to balance the bosses is bumping their health and damage down by 10-20%? optional bosses should be build checks. This boss definitely doesn’t need a nerf. Of course it’s a difficulty spike because all bosses before were relatively easy and you didn’t need gear or resistances or anything good in particular for them, this fight has you really consider that for the first time. And be patient man and don’t get so worked up that you have to make a thread on the forum announcing your leave, cause that’s just silly

" The game was released... December 6th? Now is January 22? Bro has been hard suck at Jamanra for like 2 months... and gives suggestions... |

For all the "helpful" suggestions, yes, why would I want to leave FEEDBACK in the FEEDBACK forum? Silly of me to have an opinion. Yes. So helpful.
And I love all the assumptions about when I started playing, what I expect, etc. I guess no one should leave any feedback and GGG will just inherently...know what they might need to change in early access. Yes. So wise. In POE1 you could have a shit build that was fun and get to endgame. In POE2 you have a lot less options. I don't find that as much fun. See, that's feedback. |

With minions he isn't too bad. Make sure you use a Sceptre for the Spirit so you can have more summons out. Ideally get a Sceptre with at least +1 Minion skill level as well, and it's not too hard to gamble one out of a vendor for little Gold and sometimes it's just there on a vendor as you level up. You could try get an amulet with at least +1 as well, though that costs more Gold to gamble out. Make sure you use an offering to boost the minions. I remember feeling he was a huge spike in difficulty the first time I faced him as well, but with the remaining 5 characters, one of each class, I've taken to end-game, he has been pretty easy. Witch was my second char there.
