Numbers are absolutely plummeting

Today there was new low of just 72k players on steam. Why am I not surprised?

Because it is expected. Most people are just waiting for the next content patch for the EA. I made 3 characters.. got all of them to maps (I hate maps) and now I am waiting more classes or more acts. Simple.. That is what normal people do in a non MP game.

Because nobody is surprised. Seasonal ARPGs ebb and flow. Number decline is to be expected week-on-week, particularly two months in. This is very normal.

And honestly, 72k players at 7am UTC on a Wednesday is actually pretty decent. Consider that the bulk of America and Europe was either sleeping or getting ready for work/school, and that most of the rest of the player-base was either in work/school or arriving home. Time of day, day of week, and week of league matter. That's why all Steam stat charts look like wriggly worms.

Just thought I'd add a little objectivity to all the catastrophizing (as much as I do like Chicken Licken).

Expect further number decline week-by-week. Expect acorns.

That will definitely be the real metric. I don’t expect a huge jump as I feel a lot of the players are the flavor of the month crowd and have already moved on, but we’ll see!

I am going to assume that this is about POE2 , as usual. So, i'd like to point the way to the POE2 FORUM POSTS .... This is POE1 ffs.

They are just making such illogical mistakes that a 10 year old wouldnt make. Right now I am so sick of this that I dont even want to login anywhere.

I'm pretty confident knowing what we know now that POE2 was scrapped almost entirely when Tencent bought them out. None of this makes any sense. The well is crazy. It is the least impactful, but just so blatant.

They thought a game that would be acceptable in a China only launch would fly with the USA POE player base lol.

I m following news in here but uninstalled POE2 2 days ago. I played ACTs and enjoyed. I have lvl94 ranger (only 1 time death). But as far as i see "end-game" i m not going to continue. It is complete disaster as same end game with POE1. Also constant performance problems my eyes are hurt a bit due to stutters / shader locks networking.


I might return for just Acts and uninstall again. But i will definetely not going to continue same POE1 end-game. I have already 8-10 mirror geared chars on POE1.

Not to mention their "cheapo" currency drops even for EA. Anyone seen 6L at level 50 or something? Ofc not. What is the point playing EA if players can't going to test skills with 5-6 Links?


Their vision is bad and if they go like this they are surely Blizz v2.

If you get a build that can kill hardest pinnacles, then maps become boring.
If you get a build for which maps are challenging, can't do highest pinnacles.

Also 600 hours in and no audience found yet. Might just call it quits at this point.

Most of us are just waiting for the reset and don't wanna play on this cheaters and exploiters league let them have their own league. Besides the broken market with bot abusers.

Most of us are waiting for the league reset end of Feb or March for a clean slate.

lol I love that there was no mention of the 24 hour peak being 137k, just current count of 72k. The Steam chart warriors have never been the brightest candles on the cake
