Nerfing life builds wasn't necessary at all, even right now, and it well be even worse, the nerf is really needed right now is rarity BS, its so absurd and it weakens the builds you play, well and its pointless to even play without it

Guys, this is EXACTLY what I hoped for. I wanted things nerfed into the ground, because exploding entire screens during the campaign playthrough did not seem to align with how the game was designed. It seemed like it was a copy/paste of PoE 1, and if it were a copy/paste, why double your development work on two games when you already had one doing that style of gaming? I believe there was a clear vision for PoE 2 from the outset, and it was stated that you took inspiration from Dark Souls and Elden Ring. Those games are notoriously difficult that require practice and skill to get right. This is what I expected in PoE 2.
With Heralds cascading off of each other and people creating 1-button spam builds that exploded entire screens at level 17, I was starting to lose hope that whoever created the original vision for this game still had the balls to continue their vision through to completion. With these patch notes, I'm very encouraged to see that you're SERIOUS about "creating meaningful combat." I totally get that you're going to let people get to a "broken" level when they're at the top end of end-game....that's only fair, and feels like a proper reward for the long journey of a character. That's fine. But to have super low-level characters during act 1 to 2 of the campaign already exploding entire mobs in 0.5 seconds? Nah. This is a REALLY positive direction, and I hope to continue to see balance changes in the future that encourages a PROPER skill/power ramp-up during the campaign portion of the game. I have a feeling that the Quarterstaff builds will still be as viable, with the only difference that you won't be popping the whole screen, instead one-shotting everything in radius of charged staff projectiles. You just won't have 1mil dps, but may be 100-200k which is still way too much.
Sorc is dead AF though, since the vast majority of dps was in Archmage, which is at least 6 times weaker while costing more mana, may be only some forst build with cast on crit will still do something. Minions not immortal on higher lvls, how terrible. Some unexpected nerfs to some weak skills like grenades (wut?). An expected amount of babyrage in comments - can't 1 shot the screen - can't have fun! giff muh money back! All of this will force many to play Huntress in hopes of some OP stuff for sure lmao. |

SO.....MANY...NERFS. SO...MANY...BROKEN BUILDS.
I'm going to try the new content, but if these nerfs make my game a pure slog of uselessness, I'll be walking away. Yes, I get it...some builds were way overpowered. But if the pendulum is indeed swinging too far the other way, and we're all supposed to be tissue paper, then I don't need the stress. We'll see how it goes. |

" This would be a good argument if not for the fact that GGG is trying to bring in new players and it's not working. They're going to make the game far more difficult and casual players are going to find other games to play as a result. |

I'm really curious why Hexblast was made nearly useless. Having to curse (and hope it lands especially with the new even bigger delay on it), then wait for half the duration to expire seems to me that it becomes useless. The damage was then nerfed on top of that. So you have made it the most expensive combo in the game due to the ridiculous costs of curses, on top of it barely functioning.
I mean I admit I was wanting to try a hexblast build with the lich. I didn't think it would be nerfed like this especially since it wasn't even close to a meta build as far as I know? Am I missing something here? |

there's quite a few good changes here but honestly there's some REALLY questionable ones to the point where I'm like, do they even know how bad that is?
