That's the beauty of this, all. If you don't like POE2 and want to play LE instead, you can simply go play LE. Nobody is stopping you.

Is there a new dev interview about upcoming plans? any light at the end of the tunnel given new updates for torchlight and last epoch within 24 hours? What incentive is there for "diverse" gameplay when you have to treat the game like a 2nd job to do anything.

POE 2 has the potential to be a great game. Unfortunately it got away from the business of delivering fun to the business of punishing players and that is not a good business model.

LE is not as polished or good looking as POE2 BUT - it is fun. You can actually play it and enjoy it. Which makes it the better game at the moment.

POE2 is not going to die to LE, but they need to get away from their so-called "Vision" and back to delivering an enjoyable experience for their players, and respecting their player's time and investment.

If POE 2 were to die, it would not be to another game, but to their own obnoxiousness.

I dunno, bro, I think it's pretty fun. A little much at times, but they've made a ton of QOL improvements for us already and I'm sure there will be more. I, for one, don't want a loot pinata where the content is trivial and with a little balancing the game will be just fine.

Go play LE in the meantime or build your own game the way you want to play it. Come back if this gets to be more to your liking or dont. Not everything has to be extremes.

but with items requiring very specific affixes to be viable, and crafting being 100% random, and the resources to craft being rare. and 90% of what does drop being borked roll items that require random crafting to be viable.....

i could go on, but low drop rates with everything working against you = absolutely no reward.

this is a huge reason that LE is appealing right now. you say to much loot. i say use a loot filter.

t15 maps are full of loot in poe2 you just dont see 90% of it. its the same concept. its the fact that even with the loot filter the bases that do drop are still crap a majority of the time.

Worry not about Last Epoch. It provides rich, fun, tasty experience... that lasts a couple days. And then you're met with the same wall of monolith boredom that was there half year ago and a year ago.

The problem with LE is that you have to waste A LOT OF TIME to reach content that is even remotely challenging, so making an alt is just unappealing, because you'll be facing another 20-30 hours of braindead content. And I mean BRAIN DEAD, there's absolutely nothing that can threaten you, no reason to pay attention, you just run forward and everything around you evaporates until you reach empowered monos.

The casuals are amazed how easy and zoomey it is so LE reddit looks like a massive echo chamber of positivity, but this is like fast food of gaming. It gets old fast, even though it's kinda tasty. Once the dopamine receptors get blocked by doing same activities, the wow factor drops immediately.

LE is not a very good game. It's very good at pretending it's a good game. But it's a very shallow experience. It still needs a LOT of time and polish to be even remotely good to anyone but the casualest of casuals who just want sh*t to explode around them with no effort (until they get bored and leave, ofc).

POE2 is looking to keep users engaged for years. Last Epoch might keep users engaged for a month. POE2 might be too hard for optimum retention but too hard is better than too easy for long term engagement.

Last Epoch numbers will flatline again in another month. POE2 numbers will cycle every 3 or 4 months for years. People are not as inclined to buy microtransactions in a game that only holds their attention for a month.

PoE1 is a testment to the longevity of these dev's. Haters are on the bandwagon atm, aught feel silly for falling prey to being view farmed by content creators.
