Thought on 0.2.0g update

TBH it feels a little over-tuned. I agree that the loot was not plentiful enough before, but now it's almost too much. One of the main criticisms of D4 was that it was an inventory management game, and that was right. This is just my subjective opinion, but I don't want to find upgrades EVERY TIME I play. That removes the chase for better items and progress for me.

Also, for the above comment about Gold being useless: Use the Gambling feature my dude.

Agreed but I feel once we're used to a good tier 3-4 gear setup with high tiered pre's/suf's then the challenge should be harder for upgrades. More of a question for me is the state of gameplay after this and the challenge aspect because I'm still in non tiered equipment until I find something very soon but I'm already finding T15 maps fairly easy and if I get lucky with a tier 5 weapon or something else powerful the varied and methodical gameplay is going to be gone I'm sure.

My hopes are that juicing up maps is going to feel amazing and that contrasts the efforts of good players and a good build vs your average player.
GGG was always way too aggressive on grind loops. Everything takes too much time, from leveling up to getting to pinnacle content area to crafting anything remotely useful yourself, as they firmly believe that players uninstall the game the moment they hit level 100 or get all-T1 gear (or all-whatever-unknown-tier in poe2)

I would, is that strange?

Why would I want a 3 month or so league to last me only 1-2 weeks? (if I had work leave for 2 weeks that is).

I want to experience hardships and succeed from my decisions of gear and passives with fairly good limiters, I don't want those limiters to not exist in a short space of time and switch my brain to a completely new game or experience when I'm growing immersed to my efforts.

I don't even need to play other classes, I've already played Bow/Huntress for nearly a week on the Monk and I love the look and sound of this guy and I'm going to develop him the way I want too and transfer that experience to the future.
I'm going to be proud of what I've done and inform people about it or on certain gameplay aspects that I'm experienced with, that's what a proper "main/community" game is all about.

No, it is not strange but also nothing could be done about it. Not possible to make 1 game retaining players for their whole life. What I was saying, GGG are too invasive on trying to force people to game exactly how GGG need, not how player wishes.

They do not provide options that long became a standard in other games: no difficulty switch (map tiers are not it, because they are hard tied to loot and content access), no deterministic crafting, no aoe loot pickup, basic inventory QoL is purchase only (D4 gives infinite resource storage out of the the box). Every bit of poe is designed to suck more time from your life and constantly stalls your progression. And reward (if any) is barely enough so you don't quit and kept powering this hamster wheel further.

I can admit it turned out to be a viable business, mostly thanks to overly proud players feeling exclusive for pushing through "real challenge", and tying their self-respect to this game, but I can never respect designers and developers who came up with such abusive relationship.

If level 100 was easier to reach, some would indeed quit after reaching level 100, and it is okay, it is their damn business, not GGG's. It is not a reason to enforce combination of poorly balanced combat with steep exp penalty, to make sure almost no one will reach level 100.

Well obviously impossible for 1 game to satisfy all your life with tech improvements and fundamental improvements provided by competitors and even other game genres to a degree.

Ok so imagine GGG provide the whole heap of options, game mode selections, difficulty levels, all the crafting ease you name it with no content penalties, well then I'm dis-satisified as a result because its no longer a shared community experience and even though I'm a thoughtful player who's keen to experiment there's going to be a lot of nonsense I'm hearing on discords/forums or even watching from streamers or whatever about "have you done X boss/campaign on Chaos difficulty yet?" and all these other modes and super high difficulties which don't at all peak my curiosity for the fundamentals or sometimes place the game in such an unbelievable state that its just about super god gear and killing tons of enemies that you need a 5090ti with the latest dlss to even handle properly and besides what's the point in this dry activity of "millions of damage" that landed D4 with a lot of justly criticism!

Disagree entirely on poorly balanced combat because I see absolutely no evidence from the internet to not suggest that any class is "bad" and I'll I've seen so far is just Lightning spear and streamer Raxx doing a quick mass whirlwind spam build but these are just preferences in my eyes and if people want to rush their experiences that's fine with me!
All I've experienced with POE2 so far is a load of rewarding gameplay provided you respect the defensive systems (CC enemies and/or remove their crits with passives and use the mobility and spirit skills that provide a heap of insurance).

I'm just me though, I can't really get on the same boat as gamers who cycle through many games every single year and pretty much POE2 is my preference because I'm "maining it" and I'm obtaining a ton of skilled experience which I will enjoy sharing and also enjoy hearing from others or streamers about many good and/or even the smallest of niche mechanics, I just love being over involved and overcoming hurdles is joy for me, not an "insult to my time because I have so much to play!".

Something changed at all?

I ran like 5 tier 15 maps before going back to other game.

the only thing is different - delirium is no longer bugged and now properly lags server to 1 tick.

This is drifting offtopic, but how should I "respect the defensive systems" as pure int character? Give me a build advice, how can I get any physical mitigation without cross-classing into armour? Sacrifice my chest slot for cloak of flame with 0 spirit? Raw mass of ES does not substitute for mitigation, ES keeps getting nerfed because of said cross-classing resulting in both the ES and armor/evasion. And boss physical skills are designed to oneshot due to abovementioned abusive Vision.

Forced to run around with 0% physical resistance at level 93 is a poorly balanced combat.

Well I've only focused in the Evasion+ES for defenses + cc's like electrocute or freeze or pin.
I've never had to bother with physical damage mitigation because Evasion saves you from so many hits that the odd hits you do take are covered by the Ghost Shroud spirit skill that auto provides you 7% of your evasion stat as ES healing, like 800 a time. Slams, aoe spells, big bleed skills and poison are the scary points but I'm living comfortably, I just don't get critted at all because of mark and parry passives.

All I could imagine for "fantasy all int/mage" build the biggest ES you can get, a unique off hand/belt that provides you with ES on casts/life recovery/something and a prioritization on electrocute/freezing. I did freeze wall spam on a secondary weapon on 0.1 and the mobs are taunted easily by it so there's a lot of easy mode defense.
The spirit skill that recovers ES from corpses got removed because it was super ridiculous and its a mistake on their part they didn't do a replacement for sure, I'd probably end up liking max mana and find reduction conversion from that and spirit skills i'm not too sure on at all besides cross classing for minions so they can provide mitigation and act as a taunt to other mobs.

I'm really not into the pure class thing much and in early access without the official game launch and league start ie without the proper gloating over achievements, I'm really enjoying my time experiment and really have no interest in die harding towards massive game completing accomplishments, I'm just constantly doing T15 maps, upgrading gear bit by bit, not done any of the super bosses and I'm happy.
