There's an entire generation of players with self entitlement issues and mental problems
I read through the forum and reddit and I found it extremely disturbing that there's an entire generation of players with self entitlement issues and mental problems, who want everything to be fast, easy, cheap, good and drop from the sky. They go on forums, reddit, social media and complain and even worse still, to spread lies, disinformation and misrepresentations about POE2. Almost everything that they have complained about are false and untrue.
These people are always complaining and crying about: 1. no loot / less loot " 2. trials of sekhema and trials of chaos are too difficult " 3. boring to play alts on campaign " 4. mobs too difficult " 5. boss too difficult " 6. their builds have been nerfed " In summary, these people are lazy, stuck in their old ways, forever living in the past, refusing to learn and adapt, refusing to learn the game and improve themselves, and constantly expecting things to go their way. Anything that don't go their way, they immediately go online and start crying and complaining. Anything that is challenging and difficult, they will immediately start saying the game is bad, the developers are bad, GGG is bad, Jonathan is bad, the sky is bad, the earth is bad, the weather is bad, streamers are bad, everything is bad. It's as if the whole world is bad and only they themselves are good. At this point in time, I think it's probably a good idea that we completely separate poe and poe2. The websites for both games need to be completely separated. The forums need to be separate. The best is to make both websites completely separate so that poe2 players will never need to go to poe website and poe players will never need to go to poe2 website. 34pre98qua Last bumped on May 3, 2025, 1:37:38 PM

" Ye indeed and coming from the 90's gaming era, where games were brutal difficulty (Especially for kids!) and suffering on mmo's on a 56k modem and needing guilds to get anywhere it really is surprising that the forum/reddit warriors of today's age are very needing for "fun", with all from what I can hear is additionally getting that with very little work rate. There's games like Vampire Survivor's for such things imo but its like a certain demographic demands these quick thrill mechanics enter into the "main game" space. I'm not sure what has caused this and all I can assume is that these are people who are on their iphone very often and possibly even play a multitude of games on there which I wouldn't even dream of doing because why even play 3rd rate experiences but alas I am just me and I feel that I have proper standards =*) To be fair on the trials though, I can get with complaints calling it boring or unfulfilling outside of getting needed ascendancy points but with the drop changes now and Chaos Temple changes it should be enough reason now to be excited over the possibilities. This is what two decades of spoon feeding will do.
Back in the 90s nobody really took gaming seriously hence it had no popular appeal. Once that changed, the industry started adapting to the 'needs' of the audience in order to extract as much profit from them as humanly possible. Instant gratification has become omnipresent in gaming, hence the player expects things to be handed out to them like candy. The arpg genre is one of the worst offenders in this aspect and while I partly blame GGG for what they've done to poe1, the majority of that blame goes to blizzard without question. D3 is what started all of this and it seems that it might be impossible to be stopped, seeing as we are back to daft loot explosions in 0.2 now. Last edited by arandan#3174 on May 2, 2025, 7:24:45 AM

Whether something is boring is not invalid it's subjective, I find the campaign quite the slog and trials are buried in too much rng, they're both poorly paced and your disagreement is as much an opinion as mine is
On the subject of why this forum is terrible (and the rest of the internet as a whole), it's probably because being objectionable is the only way to get seen So everyone follows suit and amplifies their opinion until it's debased into "us" and "them" |

Agree on all points except loot. Love the difficulty, bring it. Love the campaign too, ive completed it through to endgame at least ten times now and have almost 1,000 hrs in this game and i love it all, except currency drops are rates. Also this dev team is S tier.
But From what ive seen, people are not asking for loot explosion, but for loot to exist in a meaningful, attainable way. Its fun to find divines, it just is. But when you dont see one for days, or weeks, and that great upgrade on the trade site is sitting there for one divine, you ask yourself why is currency so rare? Make tier 5 uber gear from pinnacles should be super rare, but currency should have a larger helping when running t15 maps all day. This isnt entitlement, this is just wanting to have a little more fun playing with the trade market and working with currency. Your post feels extrely critical of the player base and if youve spent much time in the end game you must agree that currency drops are really really low, and my question is why? Remember that leagues/seasons are relatively short, people dont want to grind their brains out for 2 1/2 months (600hrs+) only to become ultra powered with a week left in the season. When you finish a character at lvl say 95 and are super beastly, you go roll an alt, and thats fun! Then people play more and it gives the campaign and other clases more replayability and playerbase will stick around to try new stuff. Low low currency drops sells the entire game short, people get tired of feeling unlucky, and eventually throw in the towel and resort to review bombing out of frustration. To be clear, i know loot explosions can ruin a great game and make it trivial, not lobbying for that, but currency should be more attainable, thats all. Hoping this .2g is the medicine the endgame needed. Looking forward to hitting it hard this weekend |

" He's not rambling and he doesn't care for skateboarders, he's venting correctly about a certain demographic that with their attitude to playing and constructing a character, have no business even being involved with a game that demands thought and considerations. |

Well said OP, I agree with all points, thank you for posting this...I'm pretty fed up with this generation of gamers.
As for loot they better not buff the loot anymore, it doesn't need further tweaking...at some point you have to put your foot down and put the complainers at their place. Tech guy

1) I agree with the first point somewhat. Loot quantity was never the problem, it is always was loot quality. If I only get a rare here and there but I know it is an impactful one then that's fine. If I need a hundred of them to drop for one good item, that's a problem. Giving more loot is only a patch to the problem of bad loot.
2) I disagree with the second what somewhat too. The trials aren't difficult, they are piss poor game design. The ascendencies, a fundamental core of your character development, are locked behind them - yet, the player needs special tokens to access them, meaning that failure forces them to try and farm and item that can't be target farmed. That's already bad in and off itself. However, it doesn't stop there, failure makes the player have an hour long boss runback, a sin that should be avoided like the plague. It's only time-wasting punishment. What is the player supposed to learn from having to re-run the Sekhema rooms for an hour when he already successfully reached the boss? And to top it off, each trial puts afflictions on the player - it will never feels good to receive a penalty for no reason. Bad game design all around. 3) This is a bad point. We have zoom zoom builds. Look at lighning spear rhoa builds. They screen clear with a single button. Nerfing everything remotely strong across the board like after 0.1.0 makes it only so that you erase build diversity. Playing whack-a-mole with strong builds is a terrible balancing approach.
