Pick 1 item you think could be really good on Mercenaries and link it in this thread. Let's make a nice collection, ey?

I'll start:



Very, very good for builds with high damage variance, i.e. Lightning Damage or Ryslatha's Coil/Volatility builds.

This is not good at all unless you're playing a self shock build with the shock mastery to nullify the lightning damage of enemies hitting you.
But that's not really a useful thing for any build that makes use of Ryslathas.

This item could be useful with some weird self shock setup and the new Explosives Expert sabo node. But I wouldn't really count on something like that cause your entire build is going from good to bad the very first moment your npc decides to die.

Anything that usually goes on a AG is going to be useful cause your npc is pretty much going to act like an AG without having to invest into the usual minion stuff.
Mostly just buffs but nothing that can give you heavy drawbacks without the npc.

...what? Read the stats again. If a Mercenary is wearing it, you get Damage with Hits is Lucky and they take more Lightning Damage from hits.

There is no direct downside for you. Just gotta use it on a tank. I'll definitely be using this.

Downside that you set your npc up for some extra good lightning slaps, causing them to die more often within the right maps, means no don't get any benefits other than having to res your dude more often.

Yes, and no idea about the latter. I hope not. That'd kinda suck.

Brittle boots. Shaper's Seed if not Perquil's. Replica Victario's Charity. Doryani's Prototype. I saw that mercs can have Aspect of the Spider which is super cool. They should easily be able to make up for the 50% boss HP increase they give.

I kind of want to aurabot my own merc if there's one that actually has good AI for attacking.

Don't forget about Exposure gloves. This could allow for some extra EE shenanigans with the scepter or keystone, and other things that interact with Exposure.

Shaper's Seed could be a solid contender if there's Mercs with a regen aura. This could potentially allow some squishier characters to sustain RF, for example.

Shaper's Seed. 80% mana reg for allies

Nothing to write home about but could compensate for Archmage Hiero Ball Lightning of Orbiting and other builds with the new baseline mana reg from the ascendancy and the missing mana cost reduction.
