connor doesnt make clickbait videos and you dont need to wait for league to come out to see that with the items he showecased your merc will become really tanky and you act like using that amulet will make your merc squishy whos gonna die to white monster not to mention its only LIGHTNING damage not all damage that amulet gonna be bis item slot for mercs its a no brainer

Its like making build guides for leraguestarter before patch notes are out.

no its not the same thing at all thats a bad comparison you dont need to know what gonna be your merc abilities or weakneses or whatever how does that matter at all when he talks about tanky items wich will make your merc tanky no matter what?
You are right, its even worse. He has NO IDEA How Mercs will work. He just assumes they will work the way he thinks. Worst kind of content creators, just putting out videos asap to be faster than competition.

If you know even just a little bit about defenses in this game......you would know that there is no such thing as "items which will make your merc tanky no matter what" lol.

They aren't the same as an AG, which has a crazy amount of life to draw from. And even AGs die with the tankiest item and 10x (or more) base life than the average merc is going to have.

It is 100% clickbait.....and he got you, a player that clearly doesn't really know what he's watching. That is the GOAL of clickbait lol. And you know what? I bet that video remains UP even after many of the things he put in there are proven wrong on Day 1. Because that's what clickbait is.

There isn't a single "item set" that makes you tanky just by slapping it on. Certainly not tanky enough to combat poor AI or synergy.

Man Ray.....you have fallen.

This isn't about "going after" theorycrafting....it's about being smart about what you are looking at, and the information we actually hold.

There is so much unknown information that the "theorycrafting" here is ultimately meaningless. Theorycrafting involves KNOWING how things work, or at least having some reliable information to theorize off of. Maybe the numbers would be slightly off from reality, but there has to be a baseline.

Without that, as is the case here, its just straight up making things up. There is no "theorycrafting" happening. At least nothing remotely reliable.

This "Conner" video is literally labeled "How to make mercenaries live in PoE 3.26". That is a bold-faced LIE. It's not theorycrafting. 3.26 doesn't exist, and we have NO details on the actual defensive aspects or AI behavior of the mercenaries. How can we even begin to claim we can "make them live"? We can say that certain items will likely be strong, but also might not work at all.

From his video:
"The current tankiness of mercenaries is unknown but if this is ever a struggle, which im assuming it will be in order to be balanced, this is from my testing the best way to make them live"

If the tankiness is unknown to begin with, what in the world did he "test"? We all know how to build defenses, but they mean nothing without the numbers he is just making a leap of faith about.

I make an off-handed comment in defense of early spitballing, and I've "fallen?" Might as well call me a shill and be done with it. =9[.]9=

It’s not theorycrafting when there’s a gaping hole where actual info should be. Nobody knows anything about mercenaries, it’s just pre league bait dressed up as content.

Everyone calling out the usual clickbait suspects is doing a favor to those lacking knowledge and falling for these bait videos. The real problem is how the amount of clickbait has just exploded over the years.
