This is really getting frustrating...
Thanks for the suggestion- I’ll look into that. I’ve tried fortress and citadel this league, and both have tons of aoe action slow stacking - had me worrying it was all t17 bosses. I honestly just really want that extra device slot…
I knew about Jugg - and was seriously thinking about my next char being immune to slows. Guess I need to do research on how to protect from action speed debuff… I appreciate the helpful suggestions! |

" I think if you even reach the level, when you can clear most t17 without problem, you already above 80% of players, if not more. Especially if you not mindlessly copy paste other build. So there is no point in frustration. Hard cheaty bosses, that can be killed only by 1% of players exists in many games. I am not defending it, but i think it not so terrible. Super late to the party and not interested in the side conversations going on, but in case it hasn't been said: the channelled spinning black beam and the parallel lasers apply a stacking "less action speed" debuff (not chill or freeze, but they feel the same to the player so it's an easy mistake to make).
It's incredibly important to dodge those attacks, especially the black beam; the key to the (edit: Uhtred) fight is staying very close to him so you can circle behind him when he starts using that ability. Treat it the way you would fight Act 4 Piety if you had little to no lightning resistance. Last edited by ARealLifeCaribbeanPirate#2605 on Jul 19, 2025, 8:44:18 AM

" tldr, but ye i read the old part with reactionshpeed i feel this to hard..., i got bad muscles and a nerve disease, when pple say "just dodge" bro..., can we just get a realistic DOABLE speed to react to and not blink and die cuz the mechanic is SO FAST?!?!?! |

I 100% feel you there. The spinning thing I could have managed by being close to him, as someone else mentioned - but I just flat out don't have the reaction speed to see the giant aoe of criss-crossing lasers, and move to a location that is safe ESPECIALLY if I'm already slowed by previous hits.
I REALLY wish this game had wasd movement and mouse and keyboard, the way Last Epoch does it. It is SUCH a quality of life feature. Seriously tho - I'm more than a little frustrated that they aren't willing to port wasd movement over - as I can manage dodging a TON better if I don't have to visually track my character, the mouse pointer, and the attack - and move the mouse and click on the correct spot, with aoe's all over the screen, all in a fraction of a second. But then, I don't know how PoE was coded, it might be something ridiculously complicated to work in at this point, despite seeming simple from the outside. |

" I don't think implementing WASD is that hard, especially since there's already Controler support, which plays very similar. They just don't want to waste development time right now I think. Having said that, did u try using controler? I tested it on my Steamdeck the other day and it played really well. I'm playing a totem build tho, so it might be different for actual attack or self cast builds. As for the Citadel map, most people just skip this map. Fortress is much easier to do for ur map device slot. Abomination is ok aswell, depending on ur build. |

Finally reach T17, tried all bosses and... i feel you pain :)
Able to kill other bosses with some efforts. But this Uhtred really bad guy. Finally kill him with 4-th try (4-th map). Rolled perfect map without any bad mod. But his slow is insane. Need to evade black laser, white lasers, black puddles. Ok, even if i melee, i can evade, but my minions can't. Also Citadel have most annoying layout. Now i understand why it costs less than any other T17. So the only solution that comes to mind apart from aforementioned slow immunity from jugg/trickster is just have outstanding dps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Last edited by felix0808#2550 on Jul 20, 2025, 11:54:04 AM

" why is it not on the table to "learn to dodge the beams"? That should be step #1. Much longer before "I should figure out how to negate it entirely". Maven? "Learn how to do the memory game" "learn when to get on the outer platform" "Avoid the Center" Sirus? "Learn how the meteor works" "Learn to avoid the die beam" Shaper? "Learn to avoid the beam and balls" But suddenly, just because its harder, that isn't okay for t17 bosses? 4 tries to beat one of the hardest bosses in the game is basically nothing. Ever play oldschool arcade games where you might try hundreds of times to beat a level until you finally are able to do it? There is such a thing as "skill" involved here....and skill and experience can invalidate a lot of people's arguments against t17 mods and bosses. But (and I'm not talking about the guy I quoted) there are so many players that can't be bothered to develop any skills. And so they complain. I'd say Uhtred is the second easiest t17 boss because almost everything is easily avoidable. And outside of the beams and debuff, you face almost no danger. So if you learn to avoid the beams which isn't all that difficult, you just steadily chip away until you win. Now....the spammy one with the Act 9 bosses, THAT is hard to learn and out-skill. Really the ONLY thing I can think of that would be legit "unfair" are mechanics that force an entire arena to be fatal over time. I believe that one should NEVER have to have a "time limit" within an arpg boss arena. Take as much time as you need, as long as you are able to survive on your skill. But if the game forces an inability to out-skill the area itself, then THAT is unfair. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jul 20, 2025, 1:15:00 PM

" That's the main problem. With Maven it just skill to stack orbs at center, become better in memory game... Same for other bosses you mentioned. But this one is nothing about skill, it all about roll zero bad mods. Rolled 100% area of effect? Congrats, you have whole arena in black puddles. Roll Sirus burning ground? Same thing, you just can't walk, especially if you are melee. And million mods like this. |

"Stronger builds can tank most things. Most of PoE is actually so that you can get away with bad and slow play as long as you do the other things right (suitable strong build and preparation). If you just want the map device slot then Fortress is typically the easiest especially in SC. Roll it easy, stack Shrines & Niko & Einhar & Orichalcum (etc). Dont take all of them before going in first. If you still die you can get another go with Shrines. On an ok build its going to be hard to not succeed if you prepare like that. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
