Spectres - rework needed - "anti-poofing"
Let's say I have my spectres socketed in my body armour and I would like to recraft it, as it's currently underwhelming.
This means that: If I unsocket my spectre gem, my spectres (of which all have been created with ritual corpses) fall on the ground - that is only if I am in a hideout; if I am anywhere else, they just poof away. This is not only stupid to handle by being on a timer when recrafting my item, because at any moment the terrible EU servers may crash and my instance goes into the void together with the corpses, but also forces me to stay in my hideout, as leaving it may also kill the instance. Moreover, if someone comes in to trade with me and decides it would be funny to destroy my corpses, I instantly lose money and time trying to get my spectres back, as I can only either get them via trade, or ritual rewards. Clearly this is an issue and needs some QoL. Maybe create an actual save state like with Animate Guardian when you unsocket the gem? Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris. Last bumped on Jul 27, 2025, 9:08:30 AM

" Though annoying, I feel like this part of POE1 is fair, as spectres do not reserve any resource required for other skills like auras (#poe2). Losing a spectre in POE1 has an impact and I'd rather have that over having them share my mana due to having reservation. All I want is to be able to unequip my spectre gem at will and not fear that I'll lose my spectres. Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris. We do need a window that lets us manage our graveyard - and an unsommon skill. It wasin't such a big deal in the past, but now that we have 40 div corpses, it's probably a good idea to set up a better way to manage them.

I tried minion build first time in this league. And even i don't think that it's a big problem. Just put your spectre gem in another piece of equipment when you craft armor and resurrect them. Ofc having some spectre screen will be cool, but current state is ok.

" That is not a solution, it's a shredded bandaid. And as mentioned in my initial post, having servers that are unstable can literally kill your instance while your corpses are on the ground. Yes, that did happen to me and that's exactly why this thread exists. Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.

" The servers crashed in exact 10 second gap, when you swapping gem and resurrecting your spectres? Then you really unlucky, the chance of that happening is equal to chance that meteor lands on your town :) |

" It's a clunky system to be sure. When Diablo II classic has more UI options for managing your summons, it is something that should be examined. I've lost more than a Perfect Warlord and Perfect Turtle to similar hijinks. Hopefully they have the time/resources to work out a solution. What was in place worked when losing your pets was not a big deal. Some of them sell for more than a well garbed animate guardian in the modern era. |

" +1, also: make minions respawn automatically like POE2, without minions we are basically nothing... |
