The 6-8 hour mandatory tutorial
" Agreed. My initial idea is pretty crap.. The Delve or Heist leveling would be a much better way to spice up the leveling. Strange to see how a post about the campaign became a discussion about how long it takes people to run it. That really was not the point of the post or what i had hoped would be discussed. Oh well Nemo saltat sobrius

" I was at no point talking about different leveling experiences, like, never - and this was also not the premise OP threw in. I am fully aware that we have the delve only events and I can come on board if you have other ways to level. For example if you enter delve at 33, have no cost up til area level 70 and find a special kitava fight down there that lets you skip campaign - fine with it. Or, once you can enter heist around 45 be able to level soley in heist, get a one-time quest contract from wakano again at 68 or 70 where you end up in a kitava-fight to end the campaign. I think those would be very interesting ways to explore how to shorten the campaign or make for a more interesting leveling-experience. What you ignored is that all my points were against an entire CAMPAIGN SKIP, like instantly teleport in hideout and be 70. |

I don't even know if it is the campaign that irritates me or the levelling itself. I guess this I really notices it when they make the first couple acts much harder.
The issue is you can't start with the skill and play style you like and just get stronger. It is more you start with some extremely clunky skill, at level 12 or so you change to another skill you don't really like. Then maybe if you are lucky when you get to the library you can get a skill that might be a end game skill. There are a tiny number of exceptions say RF but end game really is trap based. This league to play the most popular meta you grind a character all the way to 84 and then completely respec it. Reminds me of the grinding bears in the woods until you can play the game in WoW Last edited by bill1497#2950 on Aug 8, 2025, 5:52:15 AM

im someone with a fulltime job and a partner who i also give my time to. I hope they never allow skipping the campaign. that initial reset, after 3-4months of blasting endgame, is so refreshing, and feeling that power earnt again is something special, i almost allow myself to reenjoy the game like a traiditonal fantasy game first play each season.
I find it very difficult to beleive that with 8k+ hours, you feel this way, someone who dislikes repetition does not put 8k hours into an ARPG. Why not skip the maps tier 1-14 too, why not instantly let you walk into arbiter of ash, actually dont stop there, why dont we just login and pickup loot the loot and call it a day. Dont remove the campaign, especially in PoE 2, it is a masterpiece, you should be lucky to be born into an era that allows such experiences. This game truly allowed me to be grateful for the time i was born into. 100 years ago id be shipped to war, and 100 years later, well im not too optimistic for humans. Bring on the reset, 0.3, i am so fking ready >:) |

" I didn't ignore that.....its nowhere in your post. And this conversation has moved long past "skipping the campaign" before you weighed in. Your points make more sense if that's what you're saying but watch your tone when its you who should have read more and caught up before posting.....and made it more clear to what singular line of the OP you were referring to. At the very least, you could have quoted it since its a very small portion of even that ONE post, let alone the entire thread of posts you happened to ignore. There's even a post from the OP, 2 hours before yours, with himself stating the skip idea wasn't a good one. Even HE moved post his own initial idea. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Aug 8, 2025, 1:35:36 PM

tbh i'm on my 9th or 10th char this league. only because the last league took sooo freaking long normally i make about 5ish before i stop playing the league also made some decent currency to sink into them.
but yeah do wish sometimes we had alternate ways to level. on the other end. we're still killing monsters to level up so ehh. does it really matter? getting a skip to maps would be pretty bad tbh. if something broken gets discovered now people would be like ehhhh not gonna bother probably be nerfed/fixed once i get to that level. with a skip people be like joink. 3.26 when?
Don't abandon us. don't turn your backs on the ones loving poe. |

" Not in the long run, I think. Sure, a new way of leveling might be cool for a league or two, but after that, I don't think it would matter much. Afterall, as you say, we're still killing monsters. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

Leveling up in a campaign and feeling gear and character progression is the quintessential ARPG experience. I agree, it can feel tedious at times, although I believe every other option on the table like skipping it or whatever is just straight up worse for the longevity of the game and ruins immersion for me. Just my personal opinion though.
