I had overlooked the easiest solution. I noticed in another thread that plugging display cable into the motherboard was bad. I never run it like that but while cleaning my pc I unplugged it and without thinking plugged it back into the wrong port. With other games working I never thought to even check my display. Completely my fault and I couldn't believe I missed that.
