I'm pretty sure they made their stance on macros clear years ago and it hasn't changed; I really don't know what you mean by "it looks hopeless" or what you expect support to say that hasn't already been said.

There are two rules about macros:
- Any macro must perform a single in-game action per user input - one manual key = one game action; so you can bind mwheelup to an ability key, but you can't make it enter a sequence of abilities or press multiple keys simultaneously
- Macros must be triggered manually; no automation via timers or triggers

Stick to these rules and I promise you you're going to be fine.

There's absolutely no way they're out here banning people for rebinding keys; like Logictech devices are basically pre-packaged with keybinds if you run G Hub (which many people do). They would be banning hundreds of thousands of players... it's not happening.

I have several skills bound to the keys on the side of my Logitech mouse. It's how I've always played the game - PoE1 included.

If you want to use AHK that's fine as well as long as you're sticking to these rules but I have no idea why you would need to use it to just rebind keys on your mouse.

And yeah it's 2025 if it's a "headache" for you to rebind a key I don't know what to tell you except that it shouldn't be.
