Some new issues I noticed with Crossbow skills after applying patch 0.3.0.
First of all, I want to express once again my disappointment with the remaining weaknesses in Crossbow skills. Yes, they are still the worst in Endgame, despite GGG's efforts to improve the mechanics. Perhaps the lack of off-hand gear makes them even worse.But I'm not here to further discuss the disadvantages compared to other class skills. I noticed some issues after patch 0.3.0.
1. Grenades have a big problem when thrown after dodging or before. There is a 0.4-0.8 delay time that is added and I'm not sure if it's a bug or just my gut feeling... Sometimes even throw jams are triggered. 2. What the heck is up with the galvanic shards. Man, a little more shock chance wouldn't throw the balance off. 1% is way too low compared to the ton of lightning damage it deals through conversion. 3. We complained about the weakness in the P tree buffs related to DPS on all Crossbow skills. You brought in more nodes but reduced the existing ones with less damage. Are you kidding us or not? We ran a campaign about how many nodes Crossbow players invest compared to other weapons, but you never really listen/understand! Overall, Crossbow skills need a bit of improvement in DPS, especially ice shards and then Fragmentation of rounds and Galvanic shards. The problem lies and is quite visible when you encounter Bosses with a full team. Other weapons/skills deal insane damage compared to any Crossbow skills. You can't see a Crossbow player single-handedly kill a full team leader in 5 seconds. I dare you to try it out if you don't believe me. Spending all the passive points on damage nodes (which is impossible) wouldn't make a significant difference compared to other class/weapon skills. Last bumped on Sep 29, 2025, 9:04:51 AM

My friend uses Frag Rounds and I use Fire Grenade as main dps skills and so far (t11) we had no problems. Actually we destroy rares and bosses pretty quickly (abyss included). I think you do something wrong.

I'm completely exploding screens with galvanic in t15/t16, and shocking bosses in max 4 hits...really the skill is completely fine, prolly better than it was. I got mid gears and 1 decent crafted xbow. Tooltip shows 30k dps on maps on my tactician, i was even able to give away some dmg and grab deflection on the tree, not joking.

Witchhunter with investment into culling strike and culling threshhold feels good. I used armor piercing round and flash grenades for mobs, explosive grenades for rares and bosses. The weapon points are fully used for max grenade damage and elemental for the fire damage for w2, and max armor break and bleed as possible on w1. I agree that other skills feel underwhelming, but this was my game plan from the start and it has worked well into mid level maps. I think crossbow skills benefit the most from untraditional damage like bleed, poison, armor break, stun, culling, and so on. Pure lightning skills are also busted, but I did that last league and I got purple fatigue. Galvanic shards are hard tuned to be only for mobs, not for single target. There are other good lightning skills for that.
Impatience is insatiable.

" I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. I still have pretty large room for improving my dps (weapon itself will boost my dps 2-3 times). Survivability is also ok. I mean I didn't struggle once from lvl 1 to now (died once in abyss depth). |

I noticed that too with grenade use. It's a bit difficult to understand but in previous patches when thrown a grenade simultaneously before pressing dodge, the grenade triggered speedy. Right now one action prevents the other. That was happend ONLY in the start of dodging. So there was a window of milisec before the dodge enabled that grenade would triggered if pressing dodge and throwing grenade together!
