Things that you count on to literally LIVE....are incomparable to a video game which only exists for pleasure and "wasting time". Not only that, the spectrum of "time commitment" comparison is off by YEARS in magnitude. If I spent 5 years of my life building a character, thousands of hours, only for it to reset and I lose everything.....yea I might feel a little different. Less than 50-100 total hours of my life though (on the high end)? If I hadn't already decided to start over multiple times before the economy reset, then absolutely reset the economy so I can start new, with no inflation. But: 1) you lose nothing on a new league. Your "bank account" is still there 2) your character and all work you put into it....is saved and still exists. You don't "restart at entry level"...not even if you CHOOSE to since your experience remains and you start in a better knowledge position than before. 3) you get to CHOOSE whether to continue from exactly where you are, or restart. " A VOIDED league....aka....a dumping ground or trophy case. Essentially, the items are "lost". You will not be able to use them. Especially items that will inevitably cease to exist in their current form long before the beta ends. Apologies, "deleted" wouldn't be the right word for that since....I guess they still exist...so the guy who said it in that way was indeed somewhat wrong (sort of). And it's a small courtesy on GGG's behalf; it won't be a small chunk of disk space they'll be setting aside on a dusty server in the corner for what is essentially an early access museum... |

Those who want permanency just wait for full release standard. I'll be using it just like I did in poe 1. I plan to use leagues for new characters.

I still have freaking Bestiary nets in my stash in PoE lol. They mean LESS than nothing to me....I wish they were auto-deleted so that they didn't take up space. " It will be in a "beta-specific" standard mode. Technically playable with other beta characters (maybe?) but functionally unplayable, since any players interested in "standard" will be in the normal standard mode if at all. The actual functionality will likely depend on just how much the game will need to change between now and that time. More change = LESS chance for a "functional" beta standard league. It is far better to think of it as a voided league, even if it isn't SPECIFICALLY marketed as such. That's just GGGs salesmanship at play. Much like the 40 year old computer in your basement might technically still function and be usable....but in practice it isn't. Also.....what FAQ? Instead of admitting they had erred, the disinformation continues for another off-topic page.
I wouldn't be surprised to see EA toons eventually migrated into Launch's Standard after the first 2 leagues are out. It's more plausible than the baseless nonsense being pulled out ITT. |
