The decisive feedback at this point of EA: season length is too long
The season was okayish, still quite significant balance issues concerning the campaign (some classes just dont clear like others do, but bring nothing to the table to offset this) and evasion (armor is now pretty ok, evasion will still get you killed).
Managed to make quite a few builds which were okay (5), so it was fun while it lasted. And yes, I consider maps boring in their current state, so I don't play them much -> I rather reroll. But now I can't find any new interesting builds anymore (as I'm HC SSF btw, the build needs to clear the campaign reasonably well to classify), so I'll wait for the next update. The problem is that it's ~3 months into the future. GGG, do look at the charts: https://steamdb.info/app/2694490/charts/#max You will have asystole 2 months after every major update, so I propose you shorten the 4 months to 2 instead, and release half the planned content. Now there's a thread title we can't get behind.
Firstly, do you have any idea how many players haven't even finished the campaign on a single character yet? Tons. How many people who've reached maps but haven't reached T15? Or even tier 10? Also tons. How many people in mapping who'd yet to see a citadel, fight a pinnacle, or even get 50 splinters of any types? Again, many. Leagues being too short would be a lot worse than them being "too long". A league needs to be long enough that players who don't no-life all their time into one single game still have enough real-time to beat the campaign and make good headway into endgame. A league needs to be long enough that the working man who only gets to play a few hours every other weekend still gets to get through endgame before the league ends. I do not want to see leagues be made so short they're over before people even have enough time to get anything done. |

By tons, you probably mean thousands - and yes, as of today, around 80 thousand daily players.
In a month, that figure will be around 30 thousand. In two months, around 10 thousand, where it will remain until the next season kicks in with ~400 thousand players. So, should we have the current longer seasons for the sake of the 10 thousand players, or shorter so that more players will play the game at all times? GGG does want to make money, and they can (and will) probably analyze which is is better for their wallet, but I'm fairly confident that a higher average player base yields more. |

The other thing you seem to be missing is that nether PoE 2 or PoE 1 are supposed to be your forever game. If you've done everything that you want to do in this season, that doesn't mean its too long. It means you've done everything you want and so now have time to ether rest, play another game, or whatever else you want to do.
Plus the added detail that the season length isn't just about "how quickly will players get bored?" but also about giving the devs time to normally create new content for each league. So what would you prefer: a league that feels too long for you but that most of the time you enjoy mechanics of whatever has been added, or would you prefer a league that is shorter but that you get bored with even faster because the devs never have time to add in quality content? |

Decisively?

Yeah i think the game could benefit from a "mid-league patch" with new content to keep things fresh for a bit longer

" Firstly, no. Secondly, GGG cannot do that while supporting both games. They alternate the leagues between POE1 and POE2. So, every 2 months, a new league is coming out. POE2 will drop a new league and then, 2 months later, POE1 will drop a new league. 2 months after that, a new league will come out for POE2. And so, the cycle continues. They don't have enough focused/dedicated development personnel to support anything more. If they tried to, it would be a terrible implementation every 2 months and they would lose any playerbase that they are trying to grow/maintain. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 96 Deadeye, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava, 88 Ritualist, 95 Deadeye (League)

Oh dear please no, I barely got to tier 10 before last season ended.
I only have around 1 hour a day to play. |

They changed to 4 months from 3 because they can't keep up.
I called this long before PoE2 came out because PoE1 leagues were losing a lot of quality compared to previous leagues. The final stage of this trek is one game will be sacrificed for the other. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" Yep. Eventually they will need to kill off POE1. In the meantime, they need to try to make POE2 attractive enough to POE1 players to migrate when the hammer drops. They are stretched thin and trying to serve 2 different crowds. 97 Blood Mage, 96 Gemling, 96 Deadeye, 93 Invoker, 92 Amazon, 92 Stormweaver, 91 Smith of Kitava, 88 Ritualist, 95 Deadeye (League)
