The decisive feedback at this point of EA: season length is too long

Hell no! Just because you're no-lifeing this game doesn't mean other players shouldn't be able to finish the content of the league.

Play something else or maybe go out more or something...
I think there are many, many builds still to be discovered. I don't think a lack of builds is a problem. However, the hyper inflation the economy experiences, on the other hand, is a big problem. The leagues can barely last a month before inflation goes crazy, and that's the biggest turn off for most players, especially the ones who have less play time and are still trying to get stronger. They start to not be able to afford a lot of things. This time, with all of the new crafting, the main issue is that a lot of the crafting materials have become unaffordable due to all of the very rich players buying them all up. They can easily afford it and want to keep crafting. So, they just keep doing it and driving the costs out of reach for the average player.

I think that's really the only issue with the league length. It's the economy and how unstable and prone to hyper inflation it always is in POE.
THIS! Or we need combat balancing mid-leagues monthly at least.

I do not care about Poe1, so dont bring that shit up.
Two important observations in the thread:

1) POE1 and POE2 are cannibalizing each other -> would be good for GGG to decide and communicate when to merge these two.

2) (Hyper)inflation in trading. I don't personally play trade, but I can imagine as this is problem in many games - nolifers and bots farm way too much currency for the economy to keep up as the season grows longer.

Thank you boys, valuable feedback to GGG.

Decisively?

Decisive - other feedback concern what should be changed and how.

This feedback concerns the higher abstraction level of "how often should things be changed".

And to one commenter - this season had act 4, the interludes, and abyss.

Personally I would have been ok with one of these three for releasing a season.

One new character, weapon, act or similar size of addition is enough imo.

And with it, of course balancing the stuff from last season, which I consider a big priority.
So is this based on you doing the campaign five times? No maps? What level, which bosses did you do?

I got to around level 80, and that character is still alive (although the ember fusillage nerf made it really bad).

But please note, that my opinion is based on steam charts:

Every player plays differently, so no point in basing the season lenghts on a subjective view of any individual player.

The other thing you seem to be missing is that nether PoE 2 or PoE 1 are supposed to be your forever game. If you've done everything that you want to do in this season, that doesn't mean its too long. It means you've done everything you want and so now have time to ether rest, play another game, or whatever else you want to do.

Plus the added detail that the season length isn't just about "how quickly will players get bored?" but also about giving the devs time to normally create new content for each league. So what would you prefer: a league that feels too long for you but that most of the time you enjoy mechanics of whatever has been added, or would you prefer a league that is shorter but that you get bored with even faster because the devs never have time to add in quality content?

seriously what kind of strange cope is that?

You really think its "not meant to be a forever game" or that they just havent successfully figured out how to make you play it longer?

Naivety is cute when youre a kid. But when you grow up - you need to be able to recognize when marketers are lying to you.

I agree 4 month per league is too long. If some1 doesn't play much, why wouldn't they play on standard league instead ?

To me, point of playing a new league is to participate in trading and crafting together a lot. After around 2 months, market becomes too stale and saturated - so for some1 who primarily wants to craft and sell stuff, game stops making sence. People just stop buying.

When it comes to balancing - no changes for 4 months seems crazy, especially with a game that has so big disproportions between builds (both theoretical and actuall).

By tons, you probably mean thousands - and yes, as of today, around 80 thousand daily players.

In a month, that figure will be around 30 thousand.

In two months, around 10 thousand, where it will remain until the next season kicks in with ~400 thousand players.

So, should we have the current longer seasons for the sake of the 10 thousand players, or shorter so that more players will play the game at all times?

GGG does want to make money, and they can (and will) probably analyze which is is better for their wallet, but I'm fairly confident that a higher average player base yields more.

So your idea of keeping the game alive is invalidating player progress so the zoomer meta slaves can feel validated?
