BETA. Repeat after me, BETA.

If you think you found a bug, report it in the bug section instead of whining about how a game in BETA has bugs.

Certainly not BETA. And the players did not put their signatures anywhere they take a commitment to search and report the bugs. Disgusting to see the people defending poor state of the game.

You can make up your own definition of words, but that does not make them correct.

Beta has nothing to do with you signing some made up document. Beta is a testing stage prior to full release, where you have it tested by people outside of your company and often your target customer base.

Beta can be closed (only open to select people) or open (open to everyone). It can be free, come at a cost, or in some cases they pay the testers for their time.

Early Access is a funding model for Beta (and earlier) games. POE2 is currently in it's Beta phase, and utilizing the Early Access model.

These are industry standard terms, whatever your made up definitions are don't matter.

Nothing to defend here, only statements of fact.

Lets call it a Beta. Then its a Beta with Bugs that persistent for a year. That is absolutely horrendous.
I never played a Beta before or an Early Access where the developer is this slow in fixing Bugs. And i played quiet a number of Beta and even Alpha games.
Several Bugs get simply ignored.

Ok, sure. Can I come live in your fantasy land?

i think the sticky in Bug Report forum speaks for itself here:

Known Issues

These PoE2 Early Access problems are currently being investigated and we'll be trying to get them fixed as soon as we can.

High priority issues:

Various client crashes and performance issues

If a bug you're experiencing isn't on this list it doesn't mean we're not aware and looking into it, this is just a list of common and important problems. Any other issues please make a bug report or respond to another thread if it looks to be the same problem, thanks.

that 'high prio list' haven't changed for weeks

Enough of this bs. How I am sick of the people who think they are smart: "Oh, look I have seen the definition the AI gave me". Any activities involving game testing is the part of development process. The development process itself solely serve only one purpose: to obtain financial benefits. At very least it's major and the first. As the participant of this process you are supposed to obtain the share, don't you? The other participants do, but you are claiming that it's ok you are doing it for free. Not always the devs have been using their playerbase as the beta-testers, but for the silent approval of the people like you it has become common practice. I could develop this thought further, but at that point it will be very offensive.

It's really strange there's people like you going out of their way and doing mental gymnastics to justify the game in it's current state. Johnathan himself said they were treating it more like 1.0 than EA and the fact that they are focusing so much on leagues while slacking on optimization and bugs reaffirms that.
To be fair, he's doing alright for a guy who is grossly unqualified for the position he holds.

Sure his vision is truly awful and he has no plan of how to get from A to B but atleast he's mastered the art of apology videos.

No, I think I know the terms because I am a software developer. Every single developer that chooses to use the EA model is choosing to use their players as testers because... and here's the important part, THAT'S WHAT IT IS.

There's no silent approval, it's 100% what you are signing up for when you choose to play a game in EA or any other testing stage.

Here, let's see what Valve (the ones that first starting using the term Early Access) has to say: https://store.steampowered.com/earlyaccessfaq/

I'll draw your attention to the side where is says "As a gamer.... HELP TEST AND REPORT BUGS"

You paid to be a beta tester, end of story. It wasn't hidden, it was told to you from the very beginning. If you don't want to be a tester, then wait until full release.

If you don't want to be a tester, don't sign up to be a tester.
