Do NOT keep Sekhema ascending system for the final release.

Maybe a Honor reset after each room/floor with some adjust of it would be better then current loose all Honor and game over.
Sometime simple can not avoid bad Affliction, because both way is terrible for us.
Rather doing 4x Sanctum (Trial of Chaos, the other one) then doing Sekhemas again.
I used to agree, but honestly, with honour resistance from relics and a decent build, Sekhemas is so easy. And I play melee Amazon! But in the endgame, it is very tedious to run all 4 floors.
Hopefully they don’t do anything more to this mechanic

If anything they need to rebuff zarokh back to an actual threat, as .2 made him a joke.
Mash the clean
I have to admit, I'm not a fan of the Sanctum mechanic myself, but it is intense and challenging. When the game started I thought it was impossibly hard and I admit to some bitching. Now, I breeze through the first trial on all chars while hardly taking damage.

Honestly, it is a skill issue in most cases, that and it seem most people do not know you can treat relics just as you treat other items, using crafting mats to add affixes. The right combination of relics can make your run much, much smoother, as can skill adaptations.

Here is one example: warriors, tough right? At first, yes. But then I realized I could dodge roll out of Leap slam into a Boneshatter combo, supporting Leap slam with Brink, so it's guaranteed not to kill/trigger death effects. Helped enormously.

Honestly, the best way to approach it is to consider your build for this specific challenge, making it vastly easier. Don't get me wrong, I still think certain afflictions are ridiculous and it is still possible to RNG yourself into an impossible run (killed movement speed, monster speed, no ES or armour for ES or armour builds, blinding afflic so you can't see what's ahead, etc), but it does get easier with planning and practice.
Trial of chaos is C tier
Trial of Sekhema is F tier

Neither of them are particularly great, but Trial of Chaos is far superior.
I think with Act 4 and that area where you fight Yama the Monkey, they might be working on a 3rd ascension trial which hopefully they do right and it isn't just

"It's your build except with 15 different debuffs, so you may as well play as a level 1 character again"
"
Weren’t you people complaining about the length of labs and having to avoid the traps back in poe1? Lololol

yes because no where else in the game did it force you to do 10+ full map areas and the same boss multiple times, nor did the traps really exsist anywhere else ... on ONE life.

it was not uncommon for people to spend literally 20 minutes to a half hour in labs. thats too long of a period of time for an arpg. way too long.

and they forced you to farm it for gems once they were implemented, ontop of the already forced entry due to ascendency's.

it was a huge deviation from the vast majority, if not all, of the gameplay inside the game previously, and after it.

there were huge chunks of the playerbase, including myself, that disliked labs. (and the funny part... we hated the poe1 versions of sekhemas/choas trials as well)

that said. its STILL better than what we have at this point in poe2. and i would gladly do labs instead (esp with WASD) of the chaos trial and sekhemas, and im pretty sure im not alone in this regard.

it made sense story wise. with memorable voice lines. memorable moments.

poe2's forced ascendency activities dont really mesh story wise. they dont have memorable voice lines. or memorable moments outside the large portion of people who 'hate that one boss with tornados or w/e'.. or having 3 seconds to run around and touch 6 circles on the ground or you die.

all in all. imo.
sekhemas. chaos trial. and labs. they all fucking suck.

Lab beats sekhema every day of the week.

Heck the izaro boss lines still bring chills
skill issue, sek is very easy

i would like them to make the trials immediately avaialble once you hit act 2 though - then the player could decide which one to do (think this would make more sense when there are 4 options instead of 2 though)

Doing them is shit.
I don't want to juggle relics that are only good for a mini game.
I dont want to invest materials on them
I don't want to be gated by RNG , Pick lose your evasion , or you are blind.
Room 1

It is a total time waster.
It's built to be a time waster.
Being conscious of the fact you are being manipulated and forced to interact
with something made just to waste your time.

With RNG it's NEVER a skill issue.
All the solutions all the same from the sheeple.
Have you wasted enough time yet.
I used to find them hard then i wasted allot of time in real life
and spent allot of game resources so that I could play a mini game!!!!

I HATE THEM.
The fact that they still exist, I lose respect for the company.
Thats no lie, and no hyperbole, something that blatant and stupid and still here.

I really enjoy Sekhemas/Sanctum.
I utterly freaking LOATHE that GGG gates character advancement behind it.

Why? Because it involves a defensive layer that ONLY exists in the trial (honor res) and makes other defensive layers that aren't evasion completely useless. High elem res? Doesn't matter. High armor? Doesn't matter. High ES? Doesn't matter. Great life or ES recovery? Doesn't matter. All that matters is Don't Get hit™

You end up with builds that are perfectly viable, even incredibly effective, in the 99% of the game that isn't the trial, being crippled during a part of the game that is REQUIRED for character advancement, just because they don't have evasion.

Keep Sekhemas, but find a better way to unlock ascendancies/ascendency points, please
