Melee bad 0.2-0.4 expirience
" Currently i have 5720 armour - 64% armour at level 79 in bear form shaman. It's not about build, i can build 90% armor sacrificing all damage, and i know of builds which utilize other mechanics than armour to save you from physical damage. But if you argue that melee is on par with ranged builds or better because you can spend more points into armour/deflect/ES/block/threshholds/%slow effect while ranged dont have to do it as much/at all - i do not agree. |

Copying and pasting poe 1 monster modifiers, ground/on death effects into poe 2 was a mistake.
No wonder the majority of players don't wnat to play melee, there's nothing wrong with the playstyle itself is just that poe punishes you from getting close to enemies. " Lets discuss then how much points should get into defence options to make your build not feel like 50% of it is just defence. And if it is, it should be proportionally equal for ranged builds too. Or have innate defences on melee skills/weapons. I understand the concept of melee should be more leaning into defence, but to what point? Does current situation feel balanced to you? |

I am attempting to offer help so you dont die to phys hits, as you shouldnt be, as a melee player. " I mentioned it in first post and every post after that. I know i can build much more tankiness, but why bother playing melee if i can just pick ranged and have much more fun testing different builds without 50% points going into defence? Alternate route could be increasting baseline melee skill damage so that i dont need damage nodes as much as ranged players do, then i'll agree that i should just build more defences. |

" Seems like a git gud post. I doubt your judgement on getting to 6k armour without a single armour node on lvl ~60, but whatever. This is feedback forum, i give my feedback on a melee. You can disagree, but dont turn it into "git gud kid" type of answer. If you feel that melee is ok right now and doesnt need adjusting to be competitive - tell us why you think so and what makes melee compatible to ranged gameplay wise. How many builds you can pull off as a melee? One specific which utilizes several defencive passives/auras? Is it a must to play titan warrior with shield and two-handed mace? |

True. I tried melee in 0.2, got to lvl 94 with smith, never doing this again until they make some drastic changes.
Like, it just worse in every way possible. Warriors don't have access to single reliable source of defence - blue life and the red life is literally impossible to scale to the values that are viable in the endgame. Because as you said, baseline damage of mobs is insanely high. Yes we had block as an assistance, but they "fixed" it. Its not the matter of making The melee survivability on the same lvl as ranged. No. It should be SIGNIFICANTLY higher, as you HAVE TO take damage as the core idea of melee character vs ranged. But it just worse lol. And what about damage you say, maybe on the counterpart of squishiness you have a lot of damage? Well... yeah no. Ranged win here too. And they don't even have those insanely "good" tradeoffs with +30% dmg -5% atk speed. It feels so paifull to have to pick those nodes because that maces is by itself the worst weapon in the game and now its even slower... Yeah thanks that what we all wanted. And its not like you have the choice to no to take them, all other nodes are even more insignificant (its the problem with the whole tree not only warrior part) Clearspeed? Yeah you can kinda make it work but it still worse. (p ls remove invisible -10% ms on armour its so stupid) |

" Expecially when you forced to take skill speed/attack speed nodes because it IS a defencive for melee - slower your attack/skill speed - more time you stand still while casting melee attack while being attacked in melee. Truly an amazing expirience. |
