Melee is UNPLAYABLE with the abyss degen pool, lag, stunlock, action slow, fps drop

Playing Invoker ice strike or tempest flurry stuff versus the Abyss, two of the main invoker skill

is there anyone in the balance team actually play any melee build to test how viable it is in the endgame

i got so mad that so many thing happens and drop my fps to 20 and died several map in a row and there is literally no way for me to fix it

Just mention to any poe player that there is a rare with a pool that deals like 1k per second phys dmg in a huge pool around itself, the pool completely disables any healing and it teleports on top of you every 4-5 seconds or so.
You don't need to even play melee to know that is completely unplayable for melee.

My guess is that ggg only test melee in the campaign

YES. They only test and love monk in campaign until End of Act-4.
Abys for Monk is only playable with Tecrod in 0.3 to stop 20% of damage and receive the damage over the next 4 seconds.

Without it, your weapon needs insane investment (all Tier-2 and crit-multi)

In addition to your monk, attack speed of the monsters are working against you in this game. Compare a bear this league and its flaws:
(1) the embedded /hard coded stand-up time for the bear
(2) +0.4 or 0.5 seconds additional rampage initial time skill
(3) the double click necessary to apply rampage
(4) the size of temporal chains applying in Tier-14 maps
(5) any form of freeze (map mods like chilled ground or monster gain extra cold)
(6) Spear+Shield Farradin monster can stop your rampage
(7) Basic attacks from insects are faster than all bear attacks. Light stun meter keeps building from all small insects.

yeah, like a quarter of the mods on rares are PBAOE... how are you supposed to stand next to it to attack...

And the worst part of that Abyss degen is that even tho it is physical, armor only applies to hits, and that degen is DoT which doesn't get affected by it...

Sadly I have to agree.

This league is the first time I'm playing a true melee character in PoE2 and it's horrible at times. (played EQ Warrior before, but that isn't really melee range)

Some monsters and bosses are laughably bad. U need to get close, but if u do u get hit with slows, degens, explosions and all kinds of BS.
I'm playing Werewolf Invoker right now and I love the build, but sometimes I'm close to rage quitting.

Hopefully GGG takes this feedback to heart and designs future mods and bosses different, but from what we learned with PoE... it's unlikely.

Next league I'm probably back on a ranged character... it's much less annoying to play.

Left side of the tree is so weird, compared to the right side of the tree. While right side of tree every node you click feels rewarding. The left side looks like I click a point and I have to think about how to fix the downsides. Its an annoying design that only affects melee, whoever is working with melee please post your logic behind this.
This is the problem that Archnemesis brought to the game way back in POE 1. Abyss mods made the problem way worse and the fact that you can't build defense easy makes it even worse.

In PoE 2 best defense is to 1 tap the rares.
But before you reach it it's this annoying change place change place change place attack window change place change place attack infuriating dance that makes you want to stop playing.

Not to mention that you identify orb type not a monster type. You don't fight monsters, you fight Archnemesis mod pool. Monsters could be rocks and you wouldn't see any difference.
