In 0.3 I played a Hollow Palm Pathfinder Ice Strike, similar to your setup now. When I was fighting an abyssal rare with the degen, I would:

1. Kill all the mobs around it first
2. Dodge roll in, hit it a few times, dodge roll out.
3. Drink a health potion.
4. Let it teleport to me, hit it a few times, then dodge roll out.
5. Repeat 3 and 4 until dead.

It took a minute or two, and most of my life flask.

I'm not defending this. I think the inability to regenerate is too strong, and GGG should change it. But that pattern worked for me.

Yes, i know, i can clear t15 abyss, but i die way too much compare to when i switch to ranged build, how can they justify blasting 100 type of slow and degen pool for melee, have to press 200 button sweating just for explosive shot and poison pf can run march 3 around clearing everything with minimal amount of gear? Why do they make melee suffer like this? The effort is too much and make it easy to rage quit for the bs melee get
I second this! Playing a wolf druid this league and all my end game deaths come from the abyss mobs. Even kiting them, killing off other enemies, trying to separate the queens, to kill one at a time because of their auras etc. It is just too much, they can delete you in 2 seconds from full hp & es. Not even the map bosses do that. It is just not fun. No wonder I usually play sorc or witch. They need to remove the degen auras asap!

Also yes, as a wolf, the abyss pools and "invisible" damage zones really chew my ass. You just dont want to be near them as your health melts faster than you can run at times.
I really don't understand how they have not fixed or adjusted this kind of stuff still after 4 seasons of people complaining. The lingering/on death/ground effects often do massive damage/kill you outright, stay around for an excessive amount of time, have very dull and hard to see effects that get covered up by spells/enemies/the player, and there is not even any good telegraphing in the form of notable sound effects, screen warnings, or even grunts/pain reactions from the character!

Overall, melee are playing a totally different game from characters who can just sit back at range and have significant penalties due to things like shotgun spray or rapid fire spells and attacks from enemies with almost no wind-up or telegraph that just kill you because you were close to them.

The hatred of melee is a systemic design of this game.

From the skill tree having negative side effects for only melee to every ground effect destroying melee. Everything punishes melee. You even run slower with heavier armor just cause reasons.

Playing ranged characters makes you feel like the game is on easy mode.

Also when in world would you ever do a somersault first to sprint away from something dangerous?

Can we please separate dodge rolling from sprinting feels terrible on melee.
