Oh GOD... the issue the Support gems..

So.. I open the support gems window for a particular skill - I uncheck "recommended" - I get 80 f.ing optinos!! - I exit the game.

Fk. that!!

How in the world is this even possible and who expects I go through all of them?

The other option would be just to play with recommended, or go online for a build. Both bad.

I mean.. realy??

What I say is that out of the 80, probably 60 are useless. So what we need is some kind of good filter.. dunno.

then just use the recommended supports if you cant figure it out. . .it is literally there for that reason.

if you want limited options and no thought go play D4, not every game need to be shallow.

How can you even suggest that? This means you`re not playing the game if you do this. GGG also changed recommended supports a lot of times, showing that you cannot rely on that.

I`m literally shocked to see people like you that are ok with this system and does not agree that a filter is needed. It`s because ppl like you that this game just sits in the past.

It`s overwhelming to go through 80 supports and check what could fit for your build/style.
Good point. Poe 2 should be beginner friendly but GGG completely missed the mark becasuse they just copy and pasted Poe1 systems.

You have two choices

Follow a guide because trial by error is a coplete waste of your time in this game and people with a real life don't have time to read all patchnotes, let alone the wall of skill description texts, use 3rd party apps, etc . Downsides: the build doens't feel like you crafted it yoruself

Make your own build and expect to die alot and get stuck and feel miserable.

It is shocking, the thing is that most people immediately assume you want to remove something instead of simply making the experience smoother, they don't think logically or critically about things like this, they just jump into conclusions.

The problem with support gems right now is this:

GGG wants you to find and experiment things for yourself, they don't want to streamline the experience too much with recommended gems, but at the same time they don't offer a good solution to this either.

The whole UX of unchecking a tiny little button to have access to more options is not a good game design objectively speaking, but there are ways to improve the system:

1) Filter gems by color/attribute, a-z etc
2) Grey out support gems that you already have in slot for the skill in specific
3) Rework the tier system for gems with multiple levels, the 3 levels of armour break are a perfect example of what to avoid, the difference is so insignificant that is almost comical, it's only taking space and making the system even more convoluted.

If they want gems to "evolve" then embed the "upgrades" to the gem itself, instead of different levels having completely different behaviors sometimes, like pin 2 and pin 3. Keep it logical.

Make gems having additional effects like more damage, or chance of generating charges to be something locked by the highest character level you reached in that league specific, this way alts can benefit from the extra effects and level faster too.
Damn you GGG I unequiped by chest and now I keep dying.
Sorry I am having network issues and accidentally posted twice

The game gives you a streamlined display of the recommended gems.
You intentionally choose to disable this, and then come to the forum to complain that your seeing too many gems.

I mean.. realy??
