Game is designed to keep you chasing defenses and never actually feel strong. After like 1700 hours I have finally learned my lesson and I am getting off the hamster wheel. GGG (and you guys) can have this. Hard pass for me.
I leveled FOUR characters to 97 this league because ppl keep telling me "oh no, you need this" or "oh no you cant stack THAT" and of course "SkIlL iSsUE" kids are abundant.
The game is designed to keep you chasing the carrot that is "unkillable" and you never actually get there. What you DO get is a never-ending cycle of "BS mechanics that bleed thru your "mirror tier" defenses faster than you can even react... and I'm not talking about boss mechanics... I am talking about OVERCAPPED resistances to 90+ with 80% Evasion, 80% Deflection AND a 12k Sorcery Ward shield and "guess what, you're dead, back to hideout for you. Try again!!" then even with 156% rarity, the loot STILL DOESN'T DROP unless you are full party stacking, paying a rarity bot to follow you and also ONLY running temple... like wtf?
I am over it completely and I do not think I will be coming back next season. At this point the devs are taking advantage of my trust, honestly. Any other game that exists would be a better use of my time and energy.

I agree with a lot of your points and so many truths in this post. Yet I think you will be back next season. People that have that many characters are usually addicted.

My thoughts exactly. The trading part most of all. I don't want to use my time trading and worrying about "the economy". I want to farm my own loot. But the SSF experience is pure agony. LE already has the solution for this (has it's issues, but mostly fixable by balancing). I don't understand why GGG wants to force everyone into trading by balancing the game around everyone using trade. Utter BS.

While i do agree that the passionate complainers will be back, the silent "this is shit" playerbase will quit PoE2 quietly with the same sentiment.
GGG can't take players for granted.
Also, it's pretty dumb that they overpolice defenses so hard while random skills break the game in week one all the time.
Maybe they should care more about that, who knows.

Seems to me the experience one gets from POE2 is tied to kind of how you approach the game. Burnout is super real in this game ...
Campaign is not an issue for me now. You have to level somehow in any event and the POE2 campaign is good. Doing maps with a brand new character at level 1 will not be fun or better in any way. There could be argument you want for GGG to let you level up faster (more XP), but it feels POE2 as a game is really not D4. It is just not designed this way and it really takes a significant time to get into the game, which naturaly turns off many new players. Unless they completely change the game to be more like D4 I don't see how POE2 can apply that approach to leveling boosting, campaign skips etc.
I'm not sure what steps they have to take, but I would like to see things that make the game more playable throughout the entire season than just pump 2 weeks and then throw it away. Inflation/Economy is big part of that - keeping up with it all is a huge chore sometimes.
But I love the pace of the game, the mechanics and the combat itself. Many many good things going for the game. I keep some hopes by the time it launches and maybe a few seasons in a lot of that will be sorted out.
But a more stable interest in the game throughout the entire season I think is overall better, than the strong pump and dumps we see each season. Sometimes it looks like a dead game only one and a half months in.
