Does this mean Phrecia ascendancies are finally coming to the base game?

Even IF you believe Phrecia ascendancies are too strong to be added to the base game, you're missing the whole point: they are BALANCING those classes now, so that in itself could exactly mean they are preparing them to be added to the base game, in a non-busted state.

The Scavenger Ascendancy for the Scion would be a good addition to the core game

I think balancing them just leads it to be more interesting IMO, variety is good I don't think it means they are going to add them to the base game half of them are a unique item slapped as an ascendancy notable.
What i suspect they are gonna do something about is the fact ancestral commander is hilariously busted for example, and a few of the worse performing ones really need a polish pass so people play them. Looks good to me, but not sure i'll play this time i'm really not sure i've got an interesting build in me yet |

if I were to hazard a guess....I would think GGG will NOT add any part of Phrecia ascendancies into the "base game"
Rather...they will save the phrecia ascendancies for events just like these, that may happen more frequently as they need to kill downtime in poorly thought out leagues. Phrecia was very popular, and so if they give away the golden goose it means more work for them in the future. I mean....the entire premise behind Phrecia was that these were FAILED ideas that were rejected from the game. Each one of us may not fully grasp the intricacies of what went into that decision back in the OG planning phase for GGG....but that phase definitely already happened and we were told about it. I could see them getting heavy online flak if they were to choose to add "rejected content" into the core game. It would literally be telling players "here's our garbage, enjoy" Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jan 22, 2026, 2:15:42 PM
