GGG what did you do to campaign bosses, and why?

man.......so many people casually throwing the "ruthless" term around, without having even the SLIGHTEST idea what ruthless mode even is.

Ruthless mode is NOT harder.....not really. It is about SCARCITY first and foremost.

There is absolutely nothing related to "scarcity" in Phrecia 2.0. You have items being printed everywhere, you have exorbitant power in ascendancies, you have the genesis tree, you have uber juiced endgame play for resources.

It couldn't be further from Ruthless design if it tried.


It's just "harder" in certain places.....that's it. Its not HC, Its not SSF, Its not Ruthless: it is its own thing.

And if y'all weren't so freaking lazy and unaccustomed to having to THINK about anything.....you'd realize how much fun some of this craziness is. I haven't had as much fun in a campaign since the first playthrough of 3.0. "Definitely Oak"....come on. Having to fight every single superunique at the Act boss is AWESOME.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

Based and accurate post.

Planning to go hc ruthless in duo to introduce new player to that mode, would love to experience this as new player especially with boosted bosses we got in Phre2.0
Some demons can only be cast out through prayer and fasting.

its not even.....hard. Sure...Hillock and some earlier stuff is tricky because you don't have skills yet, but basically once you get the library you've also likely gotten plenty of uniques, plenty of currency, plenty of rares or crafted essence rares, and have your first massive ascendancy point to roll through everything else pretty much "as normal".

The biggest thing with Phrecia ascendancies (almost all of them) is that their first nodes are WAY WAY WAY more powerful than typical ascendancies.

Or perhaps people are so obsessed with the "finished" version of the build that they forget......they can RESPEC at any time!!! Some nodes you might not need later, work really freaking well through the campaign.


But I know that is asking a lot.....having to actually critically think about build decisions and skill choice, and not be afraid to change it up.

All events can't appeal to everyone. There are TONS of events, races, gauntlets and whatnot that did not appeal to me, which is totally OK. YOU not liking this one is also totally OK.

The event is not fun for PoE noob like me who can't make their own build.

I tried Poison Conc Servant of Arakaali and it was just awful. No dps, no defenses, no speed. I died 400 times before Act 9.

At Act 9 Boss I did finally give in because I wasn't having any fun at all.
This is the stuff they decided to waste time, money and resources on? After beating Malachai (which is to say just throwing respawns at him because the fight is just beyond dumb) I uninstalled. I won't be supporting GGG anymore after playing PoE1 from basically launch. This has Jonathan written all over it and his "vison" isn't worth seeing anymore.

Giving a league where the end result is getting to play the new Ascendancy's isn't worth it if leveling/the campaign is a respawn simulator. I get it, "git gud". No not this time, this is simply way too much of a PITA for anyone but blasters and people that like self-harm to play.
