So, about that new Mirage league
|
Technically, they're all filler.
Revamped and streamlined mapping is something to be hyped about, I think. I look forward to it. |

I pretty much agree with this post. Maybe (hopefully) I will be able to make the best of it like I did with Hive League which I really enjoyed once I chilled about the hive graphics and got to alter my build to take advantage of the grifts power. (and to basically sell all the tree parts to people who wanted to interact). But that being said, this 13 year veteran who knows this game backwards and forwards didn't find much in the patch notes I liked and I can just imagine a newer player not knowing what the heck is going on.

You have to understand op you absolutely cannot say anything negative on reveal day.
It's the same cycle every league ppl were uber hyped for keepers as well and look at how that turned out. Btw i am not saying this league will be as dogshit as keepers but over the years i learned to temper my expectations and also and i will repeat my point you absolutely cannot say anything negative on the hype days leadig up to a league. Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” |

If you are a powergamer you can be hyped because the groundloot change(rare types of currency twice as common) might lead to huge valuable loot explosions again. YOu can basicly double the contents of your juiced maps, should be right up your alley if you asked for better ground loot.
If you play your own build and you like to try out new stuff you should be giga hyped. Plenty of new skills, which might not be as powerful as Earthshatter pre nerf but look pretty cool and a new ascendancy that is rotating nodes every new league. What a cool idea.(unless you are a meta...ck that only cares about powerlevel maybe). Also, two ascendancies have been reworked to try them out again, maybe they are pretty guud now. So, two good reasons for two different player types to be hyped. If you only look at numbers in the pob and can't get over the fact that Earthshatter got nerfed and no caster builds got buffed by a lot, well that's a you problem. But not everybody has to be hyped that's fine. if you are not hyped but you play anyway then you can't get dissappointed that much, hehe. Some streamers seem to do that, what a lame way to process the new league content, lol i pitty them. One week left to touch plenty of gras. Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Feb 27, 2026, 6:27:38 AM

OP, what exactly is your personal idea of a league that isn't filler?
I see: - An eye-watering quantity of new support gems coupled with a massive rework / overhaul to skill gems in general. - Lots of new uniques to play with along with even more that have been reworked + opportunity for more foulborns going forward. - Expansions in content variety and loot efficacy to ALL old leagues when coupled with the mirage mechanic. - A heap of QoL features. - A full endgame atlas expansion, likely one of the most comprehensive changes PoE has ever seen to its mapping system. - An entire new ascendancy class & rebalances to existing ones. - Big changes to ground loot and design philosophy regarding what we pick up. - Probably more I have missed. This is genuinely about as far away from a filler league as we can possibly get IMO, but you do you :') Souls along a conduit of blood, from one vessel to the next. I feel like this is ragebait, but ill answer anyway.
The amount of content we get for free in PoE1 blows every other ARPG out of the water, by a mile. And Mirage league looks like a banger (judging from the content reveal). If youre generally unhappy with the game, youre free to explore other games? Come back a later league. |

Not everyone plays every league, lots of people play here and there, skip a league or three, etc.

I'm not super hyped about this league from what I've seen.
Mirage itself is just more of other leagues, rather than its own thing. Frankly, time spent in maps has gotten out of hand in recent patches. Breach hives being the newest offender, some maps take 10+ minutes to clear. Mirage just seems to double down on that. Yikes. The atlas rework doesn't feel like it has added anything. The shaped regions are effectively the same as the memory tears where completing a map adds more rewards to the remaining maps in the chain--this was the same concept the alva/niko/einhar/kirac memories had so this is the 3rd iteration of the exact same mechanic. Generic tier "maps" certainly don't add anything. It's more of a QoL in regards to atlas completion... too much QoL imo. I don't see any resistance at all with this new system. You will simply run every map 1 time and then run whatever you want with no strategy required to obtain those maps. I don't care about nerfs received by 'X' build. That is relative. There will always be meta builds that outperform everything else. The new holy skills and select ascendency changes are not enough to revolutionize build diversity. There might be enough to check out 1 or 2 new builds but I don't expect anything crazy here. I'm Sure Mathil will slap something together that does just fine for each of the skills. The lab change looks like it'll ruin any value that had as a side hustle. Meta gems used to worth ~1 Div. Probably substantially less now and most of that value being in the quality rather than the gem itself. The nerfs to the breach tree may as well have just been a full removal. It just exists as a foulborn lottery now. Trading awakened supports for 'exceptional' supports seems like a lateral move. Maybe there's a new support that finds itself applicable to your build. Whatever. There's definitely a lot of changes but collectively I don't feel like I'm playing anything new here. |

" If 10 Maps per hour is more worth than 20 maps per hour without a certain mechanic then i don't see any problems with playing less maps ;) We will see. Last edited by Strickl3r#3809 on Feb 28, 2026, 12:09:11 PM
