So, about that new Mirage league

Good post OP

Both this league and patch change little about the massive fundamental issues existing in modern POE. The atlas changes are nice but on a ranking of "oh my lord please address this", the 3.2.7 endgame atlas system is waaaaaaaaay donw the list.

Well there are things that are limited or gated by maps.

Maven/eater/exarch progress for example. There's a limit to how much ore or sulphite or betrayal progress a single map can produce. Anything that has a cumulative payoff gets bogged down by slower maps.

You'll get a better payoff on scarabs per map for sure. Depends on what you enjoy farming.

What exactly is there to be "hyped" about? This is a filler league. I'd rather have them make keepers run longuer than give us this big "absolutely nothing worth my time" league.

Oh wow, region-specific events on the atlas, so good, just what the mapping system was back in conquerors of the atlas & before.

the league mechanic, imbuing your gem, looks like the bare minimum of thoughts possible put into a mechanic. So I get a 7link with a level 1 gem in there? Wow thanks for making my mana problems even worse with little to no upsides. So nice of you to realize that I needed to be screwed in the dirt even more.
Now I need to take into consideration another variable to make my build viable, because having to have 2 to 3 layers of damage mitigation and at least 2 layers of QoL in any build that I run is already so much FUCKING FUN.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN HAVE AILMENT IMMUNITY BUT I CANT HAVE STUN IMMUNITY BECAUSE OF MY LIMITED POOL OF RESOURCES? OH WOW I GUESS I GOT SKILL ISSUE'D.




Here are the real issues:

When are they going to stop nerfing spells in a PVE game, for fuck sake let us have some fun. When everything's broken and working, nothing is broken. Just look at built variety & player retentions since rituals, it has been downhill from there (data apes can read numbers but can't comprehend them)
When are they going to rework their atrocious changes to loot, item rarity & quantity and loot bonus. GIVE US BACK WORTHY MF GEAR and stop trying to shape the game around what a bunch of streamers are doing, they are the 1%.

Rework your bosses, their mechanics & the visibility of their spells. In a game like POE it is simply atrocious to have your effect overlap a boss effect and you die without even seeing what the fk is going on. This is below entry level encounter design.

Instead of nerfing things that people enjoy, how about pushing up worthless skills that nobody uses? Build variety > meta. when 12 to 20% of your userbase on a current league uses the same skill there is a problem, and the problem is YOU, the game designers.


Like, I have been playing for years, probably a decade, and I love the game, but why the fuck do you chimps feel the need to make this game harder and fucking both the game and the players to the ground without ever giving us anything back? Anytime someone discovers something good with his atlas & scarabs combo it gets nerfed into oblivious because it was too much fun / rewarding and because the player has to be miserable and go unrewarded for the time he put in this fucking game.

make up your fucking mind, because when eastern devs make an Arpg that give me those things i'm leaving you, and my money is leaving you because all you've done in the past years is spit in my mouth and treat me like i'm your bitch.

I do not mean to be rude or insult you - but you have never exceeded 20 challenges in any league (usually you can get 25-30 just by playing, without even opening challenges window). Have you ever considered that PoE may just not be the game for you?

If you dont like it so much, there is no need to force yourself, move on, find something different to play
Dude, 30 challenges 'just by playing'? You’d have to have that much free time to not notice life passing you by. Congratulations, you’re the ideal content consumer. And I, apparently, just go to work and occasionally log in to shoot some monsters. Strange, I thought that’s what games were made for. Well, I guess you wouldn’t know, since you’ve been living in the league since launch.

The really exciting part is the huge endgame rework, I wouldn't mind it even if there was no league at all and it was only the rest of the stuff. Even if Mirage isn't fun, I can still play because the base game is gonna be so much better.

This is an incredibly selfish and entitled point of view, and I'm speaking as someone who wouldn't ever count as being in the 1% in the years I've spent playing this game.

What you're asking for would absolutely destroy the game's economy. By making the game adhere to your idea of "fun" (read: Fuck balance, let me nuke everything), you ensure that it's much easier to farm valuable items and currencies at ridiculous paces. By making the game restore old MF strategies, you would ensure inflation would skyrocket so severely that anyone who doesn't run the same strategy will be unable to afford anything of remote value.

One needs only look at PoE2 right now to see what rampant MF does to the economy. Chase items previously worth low double digit divines are now costing hundreds.

Balance is important even in PvE games, even moreso when you're contributing to an economy everyone is engaging with. This shouldn't be destroyed for the sake of your convenience or what you consider to be fun.

If you play SSF, I care even less about what you have to say when you're playing in a mode designed to be a handicap.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!
