I'm really sorry, but this analogy does nothing to help this topic one way or another. I'm sorry you wasted your time typing it out, but it pisses me off when people try to morph dumb analogies in a debate. They are only useful when people don't understand both sides. Guess what? We understand both sides.
I'm going to reiterate Sephrik's point. You can all huff and puff this is going to do nothing to stop JSP from getting involved if they want to. And guess what? Forming a 'blacklist' of known users that you can all circle jerk and harass online isn't going to change anything, except their view of your maturity.
So a long time ago, there was this village. People traded their goods with eachother without any form of currency and people were happy. One day, a talking bear came out of the woods. He tried to convince the villagers to use his honey-coins for trading. The people quickly realized that bears don't talk, so they got scared and threw rocks at him until he left.
The year after that, the children of the village started disappearing out of their beds. Once a week, one of the children would disappear, and when the parents checked their bedrooms all they would find was a pillow soaked in honey.
Believing the bear was responsible, the villagers hunted the woods until one day they found the bear, and they dragged him back to the village. The bear claimed he was innocent and begged for his life, but the villagers didn't listen and burned him at the village square.
Moral of the story: If you're gonna use some form of currency, don't use honey, because it's sticky.

So let me get this straight, isn't jsp like the RMAH in D3? Except in this case, GGG gets nothing while others profit. I'm not saying that paying real money to acquire virtual goods (sounds kind of ridiculous to me) is bad, but something is wrong if a third party benefit off GGG.
It's morally wrong, ethically wrong, and probably bending (if not breaking) some rules. Now I can see why D3 established a RMAH, and I wouldn't be surprised if other online games followed. Either way, I hope jsp doesn't establish a large population in PoE.
I would rather play a game the way the developers intended it (I love bartering, and hope that no type of auction house ever exists), instead of complying to the rules of some other entity that does nothing other then leech money off of GGG.

I've never used d2jsp but I've played with people that do and not once has there trading affected my game play.
I really don't see what the problem is with them tbh they will trade items for fg and fg for items and not once will those items leave the servers or multiply so how does there trading in fg change the economy for anyone but them?
The only real downside to there presents here that I can see is its showing off a dark side to some of the people on here ie. the haters.
If this really did turn in to a problem then I guess d2jsp users could probable club together and get a private league to play and trade in (assuming that GGG chooses to permit payed for leagues via its ethical shop).
I wouldn't be here but I was out voted 3 to 1 by the other personalities.

The situation you describe is not the problem. My issue is that fg can be obtained from sources having nothing to do with PoE, and then be used to buy power.

You're right, the source is not important and I didn't mean to encourage boosting/powerleveling in any form.
Then we agree that friends lists, trading, or just dropping items shouldn't be in the game.

Play legit or gtfo! JSP is for cheaters plain and simple. Play within the rules of the game. No addons, no scripts, no bots, and no 3rd party trading. JSP already ruined the funest part of D2, don't let it ruin PoE's trading!
LF clan of legit only players. PM me.

Ignorance must be bliss Sparka. Ruined the best part of d2? I'm sorry creating a nice easy to follow rule set on their forums for figuring out what items are worth ruined your experience. While the rest of us knew what to expect when trading a perfect BOTD.
The forum currency was great. Lets say I had a bunch of d2 items I didn't use and wanted to trade them to get some gear in a totally different game. It was possible. What's wrong with that?
To conclude this; I would much rather play with ANY person from the d2jsp forum than people like you. Have fun playing with that stick up your butt.

No.
I don't even use (or have ever used) jsp, and yet, I know how it works.
You can't buy forum gold with real money. You can't cash-out your forum gold for real money either.
There is nothing closely related to a real money auction house about jsp. It's simply an external trading system, using a virtual currency for ease-of use.
