Act 8 Doedre the Vile fight is utter garbage

The more basic problem with the Act 8 Doedre fight is that it takes a boss who (that?) should be highly intelligent and makes her fight like an idiot. Why would Doedre leave a hugely exploitable weakness in plain sight for others to exploit? That makes no sense.

Good boss design builds around a boss's level of intelligence. She could be mechanically weaker and use her environment better (or set up a better mousetrap for players, in some way). She could then still put up a tough fight, while not having left a huge weakness out in the open for players to exploit. That would have showed more respect for the intelligence of players and would have been a better overall boss fight design.

The novelty of having a valve available for use in a boss fight is one key reason for why people don't think about using it during the fight. Another reason the valve trick probably occurs to few people is that the level of idiocy of Doedre leaving such a huge weakness right out in the open as the only item that could be manipulated in her fighting space may tend to preclude many from thinking of using it, after the fight starts.
Now that prestige classes will finally leave lab in 4.0, will GGG get it right this time or will they find new ways to repeat old mistakes?

Oh, we can activate the valve again?
My 4 Totems killed him so fast, that he had no time to do much as dying...
The Way to Hell is paved with good intensions.
its a really really easy fight if you use the valve
I dont see any any key!
Didnt know she have such fight phases. xD Just walk to her and my totems or my cwc spell smash her. xD I guess if i find her in a map i will have to use more than raw damage so thanks for the video, gibbousmoon.
Slow down for a minute to enjoy the beauty around us.
Update: I gave up on my melee character and leveled a dual-totem character instead (after quitting the game for a while), since that is what it seems like GGG REALLY REALLY WANTS ME TO DO.

And guess what? The fight was a cake-walk. It was literally over in less than 30 seconds.

Does anyone else think this might, just might, indicate a small design flaw?

And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
Hi!

Same here. Really BAD experience. I really considering uninstall the game. You will lost many players on this boss.

edit: I really like the game before this boss. Maybe the game need a kind of battle log? I don't want having to go on Youtube to find information about what killed me.
