free unlimited respec on passive skill (or a sandboxed Free Unlimited Respecs League)

In the end, the game will have only 3 difficulty levels (6 points then)
Don't forget Act 3, which will likely have more respec points as quest rewards.

No one knows the game inside and out the first time they play it. How many people with ARPG experience actually expect to start into a new ARPG and have an outstanding first character with no mistakes? It's rather naive to use beginners' ignorance as a point for making drastic changes to the game.

And what's the deal with Iron Reflexes? Most dex-based players I've seen mention it say that it's a must-have due to evasion reliability.

Actually can anyone answer this query for me:

If I connect the top three green perks, can I undo the 4 red ones with 4 orbs of regret or from my free respec points?

I havnt found any orbs of regret yet anywway, but if I can fix that with just connecting the green dots, and taking of the red dots, then I'm ok with that.

I initially thought I would have had to use enough orbs to remove the entire NE tree and then respend the spoints through the N tree, I am not ok with that, but if I can do it with just 4 points then thats fine.

Yes, as long as there is a connection to the starting area, you can do that.

Yea the starting area is connected at two points, thats a huge breath if relief then. Though it doesnt matter currently as all characters will be wiped soon before the OB and I can just start all over again.

Forgive me if I'm being a silly noob, but I've been reading through the pages of people arguing about how to deal with having to respec the passive skill tree, and it strikes me that there is an elegant simple solution to dealing with this:

(1) Organize Orbs of Regret according to a level Range. For example, "Orb of Regret I" works only for levels 1 - 5, "Orb of Regret XII" for levels 55-60.

(2) Allow "Orb of Regret ??" to drop +X% off of certain mobs based upon the mob level (possibly based upon the other qualities of the mob as well).

What this means for the in-game economy, is that it is a lot cheaper and easier to respec at lower levels than at higher levels. This is what is currently missing in the game and what people want.

In fact, we could adjust the X% for each Orb of Regret ?? such that the higher your level, the much lower drop rate is for the Orb of Regret you need. At max level, it should be very very hard to get an Orb of Regret. At level 50, it should not be too hard.

Further, the devs can always adjust the X% based upon whether or not they feel respeccing is becoming too easy or too difficult.

Why not implement something like this now? Does anybody here not agree with me? Am I making a drastic oversight?

I personally wouldn't mind if the devs decided to charge a small amount of casxh shop points for a respec, or maybe give everyone 1 free or something. I used to remake characters so many times on Diablo 2, and I didn't really mind at all.
I prefer if I have to think about my build before i start a character. I see respecing as a convenience, and convenience is what a cash shop is for :P
Just my oppinion.
First you have to realize that the way you play affects others A LOT psychologically. Your freedom to choose at will or themselves being allowed to change at will takes away from their character having meaning.

Second,I do think character permanence does make the game better but hey, that's just my opinion.

Third, I imagine they would rather save the server space and not give yet another league to divide up the player base.

The one thing I could get behind is to unlock a one time full respec at the end of defeating a difficulty.
I personally am not bothered by the inability to respec as I like to plan everything out carefully in advance, but I agree that it is a problem for most new comers to PoE.

In my opinion, one way to help solve this is upon reaching the Act 2 Encampment for the first time account-wise have the opportunity have 1 full respec. Most people are around level 17 at this stage, and that's when builds start to fall apart. I think offering a full respec upon reaching the town that you cant retake after leaving it might help beginners.
sounds good, seems like more options is better

i think many players want free and unlimited respec on passive skill. this allows the players to have fun and play as many builds as possible for all the 6 classes.

ggg should copy diablo 3 style of "free respecs in town" and implement it over in poe.

Yaaaaa, no.
