Intense feelings about PoE's arachnids?

I'd be happy with big blue cubes or any other monsters who already exists in the game. Well I guess i'll just have to wait, I know this is still beta so devellopers have other problems in mind .
It's so frustrating I can't play this game and it's an awesome game... :( |

Your describtion of phobia is a abnormal behavior. You should use professional help if your phobia is so strong you are even unable to confront yourself with a image of a spider in a game.
Avoiding situations where you´re confronted with those maladjusted fears makes things only worse. Using other textures for example. What can never be lent or earned?

I would guess that part of the issue with the spiders is due to the lightning. PoE is the only game that has gotten my skin to crawl when it comes to spiders in games (though Res Evil 1 or 2 got me really good at one point). The game is already dark, but coupled with the lightning/shadows tech, it adds much more depth to the spiders than most other games. The wall climbers aren't too bad, the small jumpers and the Viper Strike ones can get me on edge, but those Flicker Strike bastards fucking suck. :)

The spiders don't personally bother me, but I think it would be a smart business decision on GGG's part to include a cheap microtransaction that replaces the spider textures with something else. They can't make it too expensive or it will seem like they are taking advantage of their customers' psychological issues, but it does need to cost something as it takes time and effort to implement and is not something they are by any means required to do.
While I don't have arachnophobia, so it is hard for me to relate, I will admit that the spiders in PoE are very well-done, especially the wall-crawlers that come up from below in certain dungeons. I always liked that effect. |

Arachnophobia is so pathetic in a video game, come on. Afraid of pixel spiders but not at all frightened by pixel axe wielding huge undead maniacs? I don't understand. I'd be pretty terrified of a spider that's bigger than me in real life, but on a screen it's just exciting because of the pretty textures and fancy 3d models.
