Why does body armor come with a negative move speed modifier?
" Well then you can obviously explain why, so lets hear it. You know provided you're not just making up stuff in your head this should be easy for you. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

" Also noticed that "Luck" is just advantage. But yes, the damn movement penalties from equipment should be thrown in the bin. It's dumb. It's not even shown anywhere, i wasn'even sure they carried over from poe1 at first. It's such a useless feature it's mindboggling. |

" Did you miss-word this? Trying to take you in good faith, you use the word "one shots" and because of that wording its reasonable to suggest you don't know how armour works in either POE 1 or 2. Also FYI if you're newer it might be easy to have missed that at some point semi recently (like 2 years ago IIRC) GGG GIGA BUFFED armour, and defenses overall in POE1, and made AR much more effective and worth investing in (I want to say nearly double as effective). So to say it worked amazing in POE1 is false in a general sense and specific. Also based on reddit testing AR in POE2 is about ~10+ times less effective than CURRENT post buff POE1 effectiveness. And perhaps as much as 5x less effective than historical armour efficacy for the vast majority of POE's history. For context: armour as a system for that time was pretty universally considered to be never worth investing in and consensus worst defensive layer. With HARD CORE racers like RaizeQT Steel and many others espousing using only the AR values you got from a granite flask to get a base AR value to get low hanging fruit benefits and never investing anything more than that. Anyway yeah can't blame anyone for doubting that you're knowledgeable on the subject because you seem to be uninformed. The true problem is that it doesn't really give good protection.
I'm not impatient, I'm not in a hurry to complete the map. But that lost speed must be compensated by more tankiness, which isn't the case at the moment. |

In the real world a sword would be useless against heavy plate armour unless you hit in the pivot points of the armour, all slashing damage would be negated. Is that the case in poe? I guess if it doesnt work that way then your argument falls flat.
Also why wouldnt armour mitigate a fireballs damage. Would you prefer to wear plate armour when a fireball hit you than a cloth robe? Don't try to justify things based on reality. Warrior doesn't have to be slow. If you make it slow it will be one of those classes that if you get your friend to play the first thing you do is make sure you tell them "Do not play warrior or it will ruin the game for you" Currently it takes a very special person to play warrior. Sure there are warrior builds that play ok but you have to have either ridiculous gear or you are auto attacking or using a movement skill for damage. Lets think about earthquake for a second. Just to functionally bring it to being to the actually useful state you have to completely build your character around decreasing skill effect duration. Just to baseline make it ok. That doesn't even make the skill do more damage. |

i dont see what the problem is tbh. wearing a chest armour comes with a movesped penalty... so what? if they want you to be 5% faster they can just make everyone 5% faster and keep the thematic thing of body armours making us 5% slower.
the base movespeed they have set is based around having a chest armour on. big fuss about nothing? " racers do actually, you see people speed levelling taking the risk of not equipping body armours to go faster. ive seen that tons of times in poe1. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" Oh yes, people that have done nothing but physical labour their entire lives will be slowed down by an extra 50lbs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1YEkuWYUKM |

" movespeed penalty from a body armour effects everyone right? in poe1 its only an assassin garb that doesnt have a penalty? the situation with melee STR classes really needing their speed, its interesting, i feel like its a side issue as theyre not alone getting a penalty. but maybe if they want to keep with the theme mechanics strength could reduce the effect of armour penalties by an amount, say getting 200 strength removes all movement penalties, scaling of course. it should NOT be hidden from players.
HIDDEN IMPLICITS are 10000% garbage. Stop it. |

More importantly, why is it hidden? Secret properties on items is not where it's at.
