What your misunderstanding is that there is no need for you to level your ranger past 90. If losing exp on death is a problem for you then you should be focusing on other vectors to power up your character, like gear or jewels.
What you get from the last 10 levels is a trivial amount of player power that isnt worth the time it takes to get them and isnt needed for any content.
You just have the wrong mindset where you think you have to keep leveling up your character just because you can. Its the same as in elden ring, you dont get mad because it takes 1 billion runes to get to max level, because thats not your goal (with a few exceptions) its just there as an arbitery level cap for those who want to farm it.
If you just change your mindset to where you plan your character around being lvl 90 then this isnt an issue. You just focus on your gear or build and if you get any levels past 90 then those are just bonus points.
These players telling others how to play, what to do and what mindset to have.
Its not me telling him, its just a fact about how the game is.
The goal of the game isnt to reach level 100, unless you want to make it a personal challenge. The game also isnt balanced around you being level 100.
Hitting level 100 is an optional challenge that you can choose to do, its not a requirement, and if you choose to do it then its hard. And there are people who enjoy it being hard and not free.
You can play elden ring naked and with no weapon, but thats not how the game is balanced. Should I then cry on a forum to have unarmed dmg buffed? Or can we leave it as it is for those that like to do a naked challenge and then you can just not do it if you dont like it?
It's not facts it's the way you enjoy the game. And it happens that the current state of the game is aligned with what you enjoy and what you wish the game to be. Good for you !
Feel free to make a post for GGG telling them how you love it. But please don't tell other people what to do in the game, how they should enjoy and how they should spend their time. You're just nobody and nobody asked for your opinion on their feedback.

Changed my stance here and not look at leveling or reaching 100, but I will just
stay on point on the fact that XP earned should be untouchable. Player's time is a real world currency that should not be taken away.
Make each monster kill just give 1 xp, I don't care. But do not take away player's invested time away from the game.
Race to 100 is a notable challenge, but not all wanted to participate on it. Make it opt-in race for HC/SC/SSF/trade.
They aren't taking away any time when you die. Last time I checked you don't lose levels, you don't lose gold you've earned, you don't lose equipment you've found and picked up, you don't lose equipment you've bought since your last death, etc.
You lose a small amount of progress towards something you have not yet achieved, it's called a setback and it is a consequence of failure. Having consequences makes things more engaging and makes actions and choices matter. If you don't enjoy that, there are plenty of other options out there for you.

What current state are you talking about? Your not coherent or making any sense.
Xp loss has always been in poe and poe has never been balanced around your character being max level. This is how the game has always been and how most people have played it.
Then with the release of poe2 ea alot of new players started playing the game, they dont understand how the game is balanced so they think they have to reach level 100 for their character to be any good and they start complaining that its hard. Its always been hard because its supposed to, its supposed to be a challenge for those that enjoy grinding for a trivial min-maxing of their character.
Your forcing yourself to do something that you dont enjoy, and then complaining about it on a forum for it to be changed even tho alot of others enjoy it, when you can just enjoy other parts of the game. Its completetly irrational. Your litterally complaining about optional content.
And who put you in charge over who can reply to what posts? Its a feedback forum stop being toxic.

That progress that you lose is a time that you have spent earning it (could be hours). There are a lot of consequences already in the game (you lose drops, portals, waystone buffs, tower buffs, node events, citadels, fragments, etc -- not sure why these can't be called setbacks), and I do believe that SOME people wanted more things lost to make it more challenging. As Jonathan says, mainly they put it in for those racing to 100, that's why I'm suggeting to make that race an opt-in challenge, rather than a global one as one's idea of challenge is another person's idea of harsh unfair mechanics.).

What your explaining exists in every game (to my knowledge) in existance.
When you die/lose there is always some form of progress lost.
Boss hp bar resets, you have to redo level, run back, loss of ressources, etc. So its not a very good argument.
I will agree tho that this game has alot more of these punishments then the average game. I dont mind them personally but I can see how it can be alot for the more average player, but I think exp loss should be the last one to be removed.

Current state of the game means the game as it is today, if it's not coherent or making sense, I suggest you open a dictionary.
Then you proceed to talk about :
poe 1 : don't care about it
Balance around max level : don't care about it
A lot of new players in poe 2: you're a new player too
They don't understand how the game is balanced: I personally don't care about it too, even if you were an actual game dev
Reaching level 110: don't care about reaching level 100, double the XP if that make you feel better
Forcing myself : some like it, some don't, some deal with it and some don't, whatever you feel just make a post about it and leave other people alone

1. Whats incoherent is you talking about the current state of the game, implying that its been anything else then it is right now.
Example: Current state of water is that when it freezes it turns to ice. (Or maybe thats a coherent sentence to you)
2. I never mentioned poe1, im talking about the poe brand in general. This is how its always been, nothing has changed.
3. Im not a new player to poe, even if i was it would be irrelevant to anything I said.
4. You list a bunch of things you dont care about. If you dont care about anything thats being discussed then why are you even here? Only to type toxic messages to people giving feedback?
So what are you even trying to imply? If someone makes a thread then no one can disagree or present an opposing view? Every thread should just be people typing "+1"?

Can you give examples of those other games that takes away hours of unrecoverable XP experience? Please don't say diablo or POE 1. Souls like is recoverable and you would only lose tons of XP if you gamble with not using it to upgrade your attributes. In POE 2 Progress is already lost when you die, not counting the xp penalty, I already stated those setbacks. So POE giving the feeling of robbing an earned progress is not a good feeling for a good number of people, as you can see on these feedback forum.
ARPG has been always about grinding your xp and gears.. To me (and yes, this is my opinion), you pay with your time to progress and get better gear. If you are not good on the game, it might take you 5x longer to reach the same level as the ones playing good at it. But at least you are progressing as your grinding. Working people like me will only play at the end of our day, and we are not expected to be 100% on the game when we are playing. Heck, I sometimes even died because i fell asleep for 5 seconds while playing. People like us try to put in time in the game to grind and get a little progress as much as we can, and robbing that feels very awful.
I don't want to shove the thought of removing this xp penalty into everyone's throat, but this is a feedback forum stating everyone's "feeling" for the game and have GGG decide what's good for everyone. I don't want to be that person that thinks I know what's best for EVERYONE and push a single idea that is one-sided. This is why I started to suggest to have it an opt-in function for the race to 100 where only people who opt-in that race can go in the ladder, and get the xp penalty on death. This is the only way I THINK that can't hurt both sides of pro and against xp penalty.

1. No the current state of the game is what it is now, that it has changed or not.
2. You talk about poe and then you said "then with the release of poe2" so poe brand before the release of poe2 is poe1. Unless there's a poe0 I'm unaware of.
3. You're a new player to poe 2 as anybody else.
4 you're not giving feedback about the game, you're adressing people's opinion. And nobody asked for that. If you want to give feedback you address GGG and you talk about the game not other people preferences.
There's no debate because you can't convince anybody and you can't be convinced. So move on.
