PoE 2 Doesn't Need PoE 1 Crafting System

NOT TALKING ABOUT RMT -- paying is the only way to gear in POE 2. You know how impossible it is to find your own upgrades? You don't find upgrades, you buy them from other players.

I've put in a staggering amount of time between 3 characters in the 95 range... holy shit, it's impossible to find anything useful... Every single upograde was purchased from another player.

I know this thread is full of disagreements, and that’s expected. PoE 1 veterans want what they’re familiar with, while others want something fresh. I just want GGG to know that there are players out there who might actually like PoE 2 for what it is and never even played PoE 1.

Think about it, not everyone coming into PoE 2 is a PoE 1 veteran. Some people might be trying the game for the first time, enjoying the new mechanics, and not caring about the old crafting system at all. Maybe even Elon Musk if he ever plays PoE 2.

Forcing PoE 1’s entire crafting system into PoE 2 would only cater to the old players who already know all the tricks. New players would just feel overwhelmed, and the gap between them and veterans would be even bigger. A new game should mean a new approach, not just a copy-paste of what came before.

I get that some people hate the current system, and that’s fine, but acting like PoE 1’s system is the only way forward ignores the fact that different players might want different things.

Nobody cares about tricks. We care about having a fully functional crafting system, and considering it's 2025, we sure as shit don't expect to wait years for GGG to bullshit one up.

Especially one that is radically and fundamentally worse.

They LIKE thoughts and prayers crafting. Nobody else does. If that is what they call crafting, it must port over POE 1 immediately because they didn't even TRY to make a "crafting system" only a "fuck the player" system.

I just want to play a game dude, I don't log in to get fucked by GGG staff. I'm not here to bend over and take it from the devs, i'm here to have a good fucking time playing a fun fucking game.

And POE 2 is kind of useless.

I get that you're frustrated, but man, at this point, you're just venting pure anger. If you truly think PoE 2 is useless and everything is fundamentally worse, then maybe it's just not the game for you. No one is forcing you to play it.

I get wanting a better crafting system, but saying 'just port PoE 1 crafting' ignores the fact that GGG clearly wants PoE 2 to stand on its own. Will it work? Will it be better? I don’t know yet. But if you already decided that everything sucks and there's no fixing it, why are you even here?

If I actually said this, you’d just get even angrier, right? Right. I don’t know, but out there, a lot of people actually like PoE 2 and are still playing without visiting this forum. And some just leave PoE 2 without being a complainer in this place.

Oh man, and some people even brought up RMT, what a brave exile. I see so many complaints, but do they even play SSF? There’s a lot of negativity, and yeah, I have my own complaints too, but at some point, I just moved on. Honestly, I feel like I have way too much free time spending it here(forum), lol.

Unfortunately they lied about continuing POE 1 a few weeks back -- Once that was revealed I no longer care what GGG wants, I no longer trust them at all. This is the only game they will seriously make, so sadly now they have to make POE 2 right.

They will not seriously try with POE 1, they all but admitted that when they said they weren't even gonna make POE 1 anymore -- Now it's not up for debate, it's not up for discussion, I no longer care/want GGG to make anything different. I just want it ported over like we were originally told.

I consider POE 1 functionally gone now -- So now we only have POE 2, and it sure as shit better start aligning with what the customers want. Not what a greedy corporation wants.

None of any of this nonsense they made is good, and the crafting bench is just 1 of a thousand problems.

We are the customer. They need to caer what we want. I couldn't care less what GGG wants, thinks, what their goals are, nothing. I care about how much I enjoy the game, and the game could be better if devs used just a tiny little bit of brain.

My job isn't to care what a company or some other person wants. My priority is to have fun, and enjoy myself. And I'd enjoy myself a lot more if the devs were more intelligent with their design, and less focused on fucking the player over.

It would be perfect if they didn't make a bunch of stupid shit nobody asked for... But they did. That's a bait and switch. We were lied to heavily.

I couldn't care one single bit what GGG wants. I actively don't even want to know what they want because it makes me angry, which is why they stopped doing manifesto's, it just made everybody angry because they are going in a direction zero players like. For years..

I just want the game I want. Not what GGG wants. And frankly, I don't give a fuck what anybody else wants either. I don't play for YOUR enjoyment. I play for mine... it's staggering I have to explain this to people... Just because 1 asshole likes it doesn't mean some other asshole does.

The game could easily be great -- the biggest things in the way are the changes from POE 1 to POE 2


AND -- If you need proof they changed things for absolutely no reason, look how they changed broadhead arrow quivers in POE 1 from 10% attack speed to some poor phys dm g roll.... only to make a NEW quiver for literally no reason that does waht the broadhead did.

That shows they are just changing things for literally no reason whatsoever. That's a horribly scary thought to me.

POE 1 is likely dead. It's been made by a crew of 10 people for th elast 3 years and it sure as fuck feels like it.

I've been waiting for years. and years. and years... for real POE content. Instead, there has just been absolutely nothing... And what was delivered is akin to an miscarriage
