PoE 2 Doesn't Need PoE 1 Crafting System
What you just described is taste.
More importantly, we are allowed to prioritize ourselves in what we want. Just as you don't care what I want, I couldn't give a shit what anybody else wants either. Nobody here cares about anybody else, they care about their interaction with the game. If you prioritize OTHER people in your own personal enjoyment i'd argue you're the only one doing it wrong :/ You are the most important person when it comes to your enjoyment, not some other person. I don't play for you, you don't play for me. Last edited by Rakie1337#5746 on Mar 5, 2025, 2:00:05 AM

" You don't understand the quote. The quote: "The customer is always right, in matters of taste" It does not mean "The customer is always right, so we have to change/align with his taste". It actually means: "The customer is always right, in the thing he chooses". If you like PoE1 more and PoE2 don't - that's your taste and you can choose. That simple. Or to make it more clear - if you want to buy an ugly mug (as the customer), the seller/provider will support your taste, no matter how horrible it is because you are always right about your taste. |

Oh, you’re actually right, guess it’s time for me to use my ‘customer’s right’ card! 😂 I hope GGG makes a better crafting system, but please, no copy-pasting from PoE 1. I know we’ll probably still have fossils in PoE 2 too, because hey, we need to use up all the stash from PoE 1, right? 😆 But seriously, let’s keep the current crafting system and see where it goes!

POE 2 would be instantly better if they ported over the majority of systems. Every thing they redesigned for POE 2 is not even objectively worse -- it's just literally worse. I've not seen a single person actually prefer anything in POE 2 except lying forum trolls. POE 2 needs the crafting bench and all crafts ported over immediately. POE 2 needs a complete endgame rework and the new stupid atlas should be scrapped. POE 2 needs to allow me to put in the map I want and run that map. POE 2 needs bosses in all maps. POE 2 doesn't need to make me clear all rares. POE 2 needs to increase it's focus heavily on quality rewards for mechanics (expedition is must skip content) POE 2 was originally supposed to just be POE 1 with WASD and new story. No more. no less. OR, hire 100 developers to work on POE 1. Not my fault they lied on their promises. i'm just the customer, and I just wanna have some fucking fun playing a goddamn game. No more. no less.
Current game? Not much fun. Could be, but they don't want it to be for extremely mysterious reasons. |

" Shall I call the manager for you? " While I want crafting to be improved too, I wouldn't like a complete port from PoE1 to PoE2. PoE1 crafting has weaknesses, which they could highly improve with a new system. " The "Atlas" as a base idea is something I really like. It actually feels like a game. There is some randomness to it, I can make choices that go beyond "which map do I open" and have the constant thrill of exploring. You know, basically a mapping version of delve. " For stuff like that, I suggested in one of my feedback posts a "token" system, that would allow you to get more player urgency and influence on what you are able to run. " Debatable. If you have bosses in all maps, then you should be aware that their rewards will be nerfed and not by a small amount. If you are ok with that - I don't mind. " Sure, but that's because we actually need to "finish" a map in PoE2. They could change the requirement to "80% of rares in a map" and issues related to that should be gone while you still couldn't just "insta explore" the atlas with opening and closing nodes. " Mark already said that they change "Expedition" and try to come up with something good for it. " Doesn't matter, it's a new game now and we knew it for years now. They can easily import WASD to PoE1 later and make graphical improvements and other updates using things from PoE2 for PoE1 how they already did it with many assets etc. " Well, can't say anything against that - it's your taste. I've been sleeping too long... Does Poe1 have a non-hard RNG crafting system?
Although I don't think we should expect any major crafting changes, as this will seriously affect the difficulty, it will become linear. But players ' dissatisfaction with the way things are obtained in the game is a fact. Players don't like saving up and buying because it's not a game, it's a job. Players like to receive. Immediately and a lot: the best item! A million currencies at once! The mirror! The current system of course works exclusively through the marketplace. Well, if you have such categorical rage at the place where you are, then you should probably return to your comfort zone... |

" Crafting in PoE 1 isn’t full gacha. Sure, there’s RNG, but if you know the steps and have the right guide + currency, you can craft the same item with a decent chance. It’s not just pure luck, there’s a lot of strategy involved. But hey, please correct me, oh great veteran PoE 1 player, if I’m wrong! Lol PoE 2? "It’s not just PoE 1 with better graphics." " Nah, it's right. In PoE1 you can craft exactly the item you want. As long as you have the currency and the needed knowledge, you can craft it. Some of the crafting steps are extremely tedious, so I think another system that gets rid of that stuff would be great, even if it's not as deterministic as PoE1. |

I've been playing Poe 1 longer than most, and no not all Poe 1 vets like Poe 1's crafting.
Poe 1's crafting is bloated/padded for the sake of saying "look at all the stuff you can do". When in fact a lot of the crafts are useless. If you remove the bloat/padding you'd see that there really aren't as many crafts as people think there are. People spam the same "high" tier crafts over and over to make items. While 95% of the other crafts remain unused. I like picking up items from the ground as well. Never thought I would be advocating for picking up items in an arpg. That seems like it should be a mandatory arpg trope. Poe 1's crafting completely invalidates ground loot. I hope they DON'T port a bunch of stuff from Poe 1 over to Poe 2. If I want to play Poe 1 I'd just play Poe 1. I want a different vision for Poe 2. If ggg stated Poe 2 would just be Poe 1 remastered I wouldn't have cared. The only reason I paid attention to Poe 2 is because they told us it would be a "slow/methodical" game with a different vision from Poe 1. Last edited by SoujiroSeta#2390 on Mar 5, 2025, 12:34:18 PM
