Yeah, I agree with everything you said and OP, except where the OP said Johnathan seems likable....NAH, as a customer watching him do interviews in which he dodges questions and has most of his interviewers scripting questions that 90% of which are NOTHING the community is concerned with, I feel he is just a very arrogant and possibly narcissistic person....

How could anyone who loves their project and respects the community just ignore thousands because we are all just idiots and wrong?! We just dont see the "vision". im sorry, but likeable people don't say/feel like that. It's not just the forums, it is literally almost every top streamer as well. Cmon, Johnathan.

a. YOU WILL NOT GET SOULS PLAYERS TO LEAVE ELDEN RING OR ANY SOULS GAME (especially when the exp is coming out soon) to play your watered down attempt at mixing ARPG with "souls like".....it wont happen, it'll be a hot mess, and you will lose 85% of your diehard veterans.

B. NERFING ENDGAME ITEMS like hands of wisdom, ingenuity, adorned, etc....is really silly in a PVE ONLY game... WHen you nerf the endgame chase gear, there is nothing to chase which means that there is essentially NO ENDGAME!

So, bosses are only a fraction of the game. If most stuff besides bosses is tedious, ppl describe the game as tedious, no matter how fast they could one-shot a boss.
Or in other words, because this stuff is new to you, not every single aspect of the game has to be tedious, while the game can be received as "tedious".

How many skills exist in PoE2? How many end up in viable builds?

Diversity dosent matter. What most people are upset about at the moment is if you could imagine diablo 2 lord of destruction was announced and instead they made diablo 3 or bloodmoon for morrowind and instead made skyrim. So much content and depth cut for innovation no one wanted or asked for.

Popular PoE1 streamers amplified some existing issues to the extreme alongside claiming some fake ones as well (no build diversity). Don't even need to comment on the other thing you've said as it literally makes 0 sense. It's just yapping for the sake of yapping.

Who the hell ever said PoE2 has more build diversity compared to PoE1?! THAT is not the claims people are making. People have claimed, including yourself probably, THAT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE other then lightning spear that is viable. And that is VERY false. How can you even try to spin a comparison between PoE1 and PoE2 in terms of build diversity when almost half of the weapon types are missing, as well as many other things as ascendancies, supports, items... etc.

The claims were never about "having less build diversity then PoE1". Of course PoE2 has less diversity compared to PoE1.. DUH.

I ask you guys yet again, what have YOU tried this patch to build yourselves? Have you actually tried anything?

Isn't nerfing a ton of skills into the ground the opposite thing if you want better build diversity over months?

These type of threads will make GGG less and less inclided to communicate with the community like what happened with reddit and then you all will cry about there being no comunication.

FOr the sake of argument let's say there's no build diversity available. Let's not kid ourselves that if there were people wouldn't still be running with the overperforming ones. A person here and there would be interested in doing something truly unique but majority would be running with the flavour of the month.
