Player power is so high that it is ruining the game. 1-button screen clear is BORING.
The same people that are complaining about things being "too powerful" are the same people that at the start of DoTH wanted to jump from a window ( and rightfully so ). If anything we don't have enough "too powerful" things to move towards but game is still in the development phase and hey we are all going to be suggesting things that 99% of are going to be ignored but at the end of the day it's going to cater towards a power fantasy on softcore and that constant improvement to be able to do more and more damage to more and more powerful stuff. That's it, that's the game. Maps being ZOOM ZOOM is fun, Pinnacle bosses being challenging is fun, that distinction can easily be split. Complaining is fine when you don't like something but the constructive thing to do is to offer an alternative. And people are just wrong when they say things are too powerful.

" I have to agree, PoE2 was supposed to be a departure from PoE 1, and appeal to a broader audience. The game is supposed to be difficult and engaging, and as such Balance is a really important part of that. It's really funny to read all the comments from the pre-existing PoE community who have played the first game in a meta of one-shotting your screen or getting one-shot. to the vast majority of people, people I know personally, and many many comments I've read, MOST people don't find wiping your whole screen to be fun. now, it is fun to, With the proper set-up, watch your screen explode, but it should take set-up, it shouldn't just be every ability cast. I think PoE2 is already going in a great direction, and I think that the majority of the Reviews agree with that. Most ARPG's you can't one-shot the whole map every time you walk into a room, there's a balance, and when things start to do so, unless it takes skill or set-up to pull off (meaning you can't just do it constantly, you need to prep at least a little meaning there's a delay) it gets balanced out. That's the norm, I've played lots of ARPG's so people making comments saying "It's an ARPG you're supposed to explode the map" or "Stop playing then, it's an ARPG" is frankly laughable, because I haven't played a single ARPG that was even considered half decent where that was the case. It's not to say that builds didn't exist in them that could do it, but not that it was the norm. That being said, they want to keep PoE 1 going, let the one-shot my screen folks play over there, and the rest of the world enjoy the incredible game that is PoE2, and keep the pacing, and double down, bosses are supposed to be challenging, they shouldn't be one-shotable, you should have to learn and play the mechanics. Also, I just want to come out here and say, that it's hilarious that so many people on this post are flaming, saying that this is a small vocal minority opinion. Frankly, the stats just don't in any way suggest that's the case. PoE2 is wildly more successful than they expected, brining in significantly more players than anticipated the highest concurrent players for PoE1 is 91,948 players, the Highest concurrent players for PoE2 is 578,569 players. People who want a fun, challenging, ARPG are the majority of people, not the minority, PoE1 players who want a fast paced one-shot fest of a game are the minority, so chill and go back to PoE1 and stop trying to ruin what PoE2 can be for everyone else please. |

We need from Devs to show us their plans for 0.3.0 patch and tell us if actually working on solving balance issues about classes and weapons.

Thanks everyone for this awesome feedback on the thread so far.
Numbers of players PoE 1 vs PoE 2 shows clearly what is preferable. But to see the feedback is a different thing alltogether. I don't wish to take away the fun from anyone, but I see a clear difference in feedback. The people wanting more power and wanting to screen-clear with 1 button generally share the following: - It's fun No other reason given (there isn't really any) The people wanting more meaningful gameplay, challenge and interaction, they are able to list a huge number of reasons. Which simply makes sense. [Removed by Support] Last edited by Markus_GGG#0000 on May 29, 2025, 8:30:43 AM

" They are currently not working on it, the two people who do are working on poe1. It's going to a be while. |

Im not going to read all this. What I will do is say I agree with the post title. However, there are some caveats.
People love power Power is fun The real problem is that the power is not equal-ish amongst classes. The "one button" specs that get so much attention, well, they run away with their power so early on in the game, and it never really slows down that much, that you just really get left behind (currency-wise). |

" Not really... I look deeper behind it. While this is a game, we still need purpose. Something to click for. Interacting with the world is fun, not oneshotting everything. After a while the headonic treadmill kicks in. You get bored. I admit, walking without challenges for me is losing its entertaining value quickly. Invincibility and infinite damage cheats last for me like minutes... The TRUE problem for me if onetapping is the baseline, that there is no option. At some point the devs need to decide what enemies they design. And its been days I logged in. Found the next difficulty spike, that I think its UNFAIR. Grinded another 300 splinters and tried breach again. This time without any issues I cleared the map, had 25 seconds left on the timer. So you would think I "passed the initial trial to meet the boss" Oh boi... Since devs want to make a Soulslike game... they accomplished it. I became hollow there. Not that the boss is difficult. But I failed the statcheck... Or to be specific, I failed the mental stamina check. While I cleared enemies in seconds (not overkilling onetapping the screen) the boss was a gigantic DamageSpongue. No xp was lost, but after 6 tries of tickling it I tapped out. Gave up... Seems my dps is nowhere enough to make the battle fun. And dodging its few attacks and keep pressing my supreme 2 skill combo for 15 minutes to kill it is not fun. And here's the issue: Devs need to balance this, because if player power and world power doesn't match, the message is "You can play the game however you want* * (...to find milliondps 45%movement speed)" And this creates a spiral. Like I am still worried about Marks answer in the interview months ago. "we don't really make defensive builds, because everyone likes to play glasscannons, so we make glasscannons fun" NO! Its that in your game tank builds are traps. The defensive formulas as deceiving, enemies are balanced against the 15k hp/s heal and leech (apart from oneshotting the player there's no other way to kill them) tbh... even the defensive nodes are noobtraps on the skilltree. |

" Power is only fun as long as it is meaningful. when you start to wipe screens in one click.. ther eis no progression after that.. only hwo fast you can move..s o you can wipe more screens in one click. Zoom zoom makes for BAD power progression perception. Zoom starts too soon in game. If you reached zoom zoom at level 95.. okish.. but at level 65 you are already up to your neck with it. |

To the people that want reduced player power all i have to do is point to DoTH launch and Kalandra league. Case closed. It just doesn't work, noone wants to spend 40 minutes a map. The only argument i can see is making pinnacle bosses harder which is fine with me.
