From Hype to Disappointment: How Patch 0.2.1 Ruined the Chase

If the loot has no value, the game loses its value too. Whether in the short or long term, that's not a good thing.

Uh, yeah.. sure.. that sounds more like a YOU problem than a game problem.

Imagine spending hours to get powerful loot, but no one wants it.

Woe be you, thy precious that goes for several hundred divines now only goes for slightly less than that, what a disaster to throw tantrums over..

We're all adults.

I wouldn't bet my money on that the way people cry and whine about the smallest of things here which, at the end of the day, is just sad cos adults should know how to manage their emotions but reading some of the stuff here..

This update was awesome, can maybe finally get my last uniques on my own and not paying stupid prices in a non PVP game.

If you feel nothing to chase then you must have a GOD tier build (your lucky).

If you have nothing to chase, then do what i did at level 100 in LE change games until next season.

Always something to chase just find it.

Yeah, you’re right in a way. And honestly, I am considering quitting at this point. After grinding over 700 divines and buying items that were once considered pinnacle, it just feels like all my effort over the last two months got wiped out overnight. I’m not even mad anymore, just tired. I came here mostly to let out that final bit of frustration before I decide whether to move on or wait for the next season(maybe?).

Funny how you see thing when the fact that this game is seasonal always make the thing you chase worthless once new league come out. Might be the time to learn to appreciate the game for another aspect.
I read the patch notes for this one and bailed. The game was already trending towards the WAY too powerful characters side, but then nerfing the mob strength while simultaneously significantly increasing drop rates just made me laugh. Waiting to see if they fix this mistake. Not only was this patch bad, but every % increase should have been a %decrease and vise versa. They went in the completely wrong direction with this one.
This is your brain on trade...
“Waaaaaaah! Other people can obtain what I already have without grinding as hard! Waaaaaaah!”

Lololololol
Spoken like someone who runs a botting operation and profits off RMT. The sooner this game removes mechanics and drop rates that incentivize real-money transactions (RMT), the better it will be.
That is why i dont use trade. I chase the items, not the currency to buy the items. Also i have no idea of the value of items or i don't really even know all the unique items in the game so i dont even know what i am chasing. I am just grinding and progressing to the end game bosses and hope i find upgrades.

Although the loot in the game sucks, crafting sucks so i totally do understand why people use the trade. Still trade kills my enjoyment of the game.. xD
ruined ? dude items here were harder to get then in poe 1 what are u talking about ? now let the economy stabilize
Well some items shouldn't still be as accessable as of right now.

I mean easier drop rates for chase uniques is nice, especially for casuals. However, items like Kalandras Touch Ring, which is an absolutely legendary ring, shouldn't have been affected by the patch.

It should be just like dropping a mirror itself.

I think some people here don’t really understand the value of unique items. If you ever played PoE 1, just imagine if Mageblood started dropping like rain, the price crashing from 200 divs to 15. That would completely break the game. And that’s exactly what’s happening now.

Rite of Passage and other uniques that were meant to be ultimate chase items are suddenly easy to get. To think how broken that is, if this were PoE 1, every single build would be using Mageblood. You wouldn’t even need to think twice. It’s just that OP. Same goes for Rite of Passage now.

But then again, PoE 2 still lacks real build diversity, so making these overpowered items common just makes things worse. Everyone ends up using the same stuff, and the sense of progression is gone.
PoE 2? "It’s not just PoE 1 with better graphics."
