Introducing the Trade-House Idea (Offline Trading)

Ya i prompt that just pops up would work. The only thing it would do is make it harder for bots to trade.
Yes good sir, I enjoy slaying mythical creatures.
make the accept button move to different parts of the screen each time xD

They will need an aim bot too if they wish to bot trade on poe!

yeah, a pop up for accept trade would be much better............and moving it around def helps defend against bots. good call.

You still need a way to specify what you want in return. Otherwise, 95% of the offers you get will be things you don't want.

Well yeah? This has been specified like 400 times in this thread now so I thought it was obvious xD. Well when I was reading what he said I was pretending he included that in there. Even if he didnt.

Instead of asking for a particular item. By default you could specify a number of currency items that you want. After all those will be shared by the entire player base. So i think that would work ok. As for item to item trading yes that will be more difficult.

So i wanted to trade a hammer. A dropbox menu would come up with all the currency item. Then i select how many and put it up for bid. Then you can check a box to allow auto accept or a secondary confirmation while your in game. I think that could work well. Again having the option to auto accept is good because people like to get the item right away and that could make or break some trades.

maybe there could be a way to have a list of items you're interested in as well (whether it be like "awesome sword of beastness" or something as general as "magic flasks" or "gems"), or the link to the tab of items the other player has in the "to trade" tab of their stash (so you could view them. this seems like it might work), or something along those lines. after being whispered, i could see the interface just showing what the other player has in their "for trade" tab of their stash and you could peruse. it could be organized so you could scan it fairly quickly. if you see something you'd like, make a deal. if not, better luck next time.

i don't think we'll ever have anything as smooth as an AH without currency (and i don't mean currency items). you'll still always have to have some dialogue or interaction with players to really sort out the trade.

If you involve currency at all though, you might as well go with the typical AH (other than as a sweetener for a trade). It completely removes any of the other hassle you get into when trying to do item for item trading.

Plus, how could you auction off currency items in an AH? If they're not nearly as common as they're being made out to be, they'll be pretty valuable in and of themselves and I could see them as desired items in an AH.

It almost seems like there has to be a decision made for whether there will be a structured features for trading item for an item, or if it will be currency items for an item.

Valid point. While that's true all we can really make at this time is assumptions. Even the beta the currency drop rate may change. I think not everyone will want currency items but if your just cashing in lower level decent item you could say 3 scrolls of identity. Just to stock up. Otherwise those items will just take up space.

I wonder if you can combine 3 lesser currency items to create a better one. Like Diablos rune system. Diablo 2's runes were pretty much the currency.
